One day this world would be handed to our children. They’ll take the roles of being our

next presidents, teachers, doctors, nurses, creators, and even writers. In order for them to take

these magnificent roles, it first starts with an education. My vision as a teacher is to create

lifelong learners that are inspired to improve themselves and the world. My mission as a teacher

is to help students with their academic needs and help them fulfill their dreams.

As a teacher I hope to empower my students to become lifelong learners. I want them to

reach for the stars. My plan is to prepare my students for the future which is graduating college

and pursuing a career. As a teacher something I’ll like to accomplish in my classroom is to

educate my students. I want to inspire them and change their views on education in a positive

way. What I’ll like to accomplish in my school is to form the school into a family to help

students succeed and learn from others. Wasserman (2008) described how important

collaboration is to meeting diverse student’s needs. I will envision myself replicating by planning

with my colleagues. Some things I hope to accomplish in the community is to get parents and the

community involved in the youth and education. I plan to do this by reaching out to the parents

to make them. Allowing the parents and the community volunteer, having career days, and even

more meetings for the parents and community can know what’s going on in the school. As a

teacher I plan to volunteer in the community. A goal I’ll like to accomplish in the greater world

is to help create the next world leaders like the future presidents, doctors, teachers, nurses, and

engineers.

Some strategies I plan to use to achieve my vision as an educator is relating content to real

life, class discussions, group work, hands on assignments, and also being a hands off. In addition

to that I will be supportive, patient, and knowledgeable. I will promote academic achievement

for my students with cultural differences by connecting what I’m teaching to real life and make it
relatable for students. Peterson (2007) described that a curriculum grounded in the lives of our

students is essential to a creating a critical /social justice classroom. The way I will promote

academic achievement for students with cultural differences is to connect lessons to real life

situations. Echevarria et al (2015) described incorporating student’s values, beliefs, and

experiences can enhance diverse student’s engagement. I will implement this strategy in my class

to get students involved. I plan to promote academic achievement for students with different

abilities is by collaborating students together. I will let them work with each other so can help

one another.

I believe that the purpose of an education is to prepare students for the future and their

ultimate goal in life. As an educator I believe it is my responsibility to guide my students in that

direction. That is the purpose of me wanting to become an educator to see a change in students

and their community. I can relate to students because I’ve been through situations where teachers

don’t understand me and I’ve shut down in class and didn’t learn anything. I want to use this

negative situation in my life by motivating myself to be an educator that will have a positive

impact on my students lives by being understanding, open minded, and motivating them to reach

for the stars.
