‘Our
Water,
Our
Life’
Initiative

BMG Foundation held an exclusive lunch on Thursday, September 16th 2010 at the
Royal Geographical Society in London to announce the official launch of the
competition phase of its latest initiative, ‘Our Water, Our Life.’

Top businessmen and press were invited to discuss the initiative with special guest
speakers, including Charles Stisted, CEO of Guards Polo Club, who spoke on the
mutually beneficial partnership between BMG Foundation and the Guards Polo Cup.
Antar Nakshbandi, Senior Advisor to BMG Foundation was also in attendance and
gave an overview of the unique evolution of BMG Foundation since its inception 15
years ago.

BMG Financial Group’s Chairman, Basil Al Ghalayini, spoke about the particulars
of this innovative Corporate “Culture” Responsibility endeavor, while renowned
classical composer Vartan Melkonian discussed this year’s historic Foundation
Classic concert that will be held in June and will include a specially commissioned
symphony on water in honor of the 'Our Water, Our Life’ initiative. Melkonian’s
piece is entitled “Amwaj” (“Waves” in Arabic) and will be played by the London
Philharmonic Orchestra at Central Westminister Hall in London. This marks the
first time since Handel’s 1717 piece that a work has been commissioned about water.

'Our Water, Our Life' competition is a pioneering scheme on water conservation,

aiming to engage the vibrant minds of both Saudi and Arab youth. The competition
calls forth university students from across Saudi Arabia and the Arab countries to
submit the most innovative, cost-effective, and creative awareness campaign aimed at
guiding households on how to apply different efficient methods for water
conservation.

An animated presentation was shown, revealing the methodology of the competition,

as well as an emotionally appealing and thought-provoking video entitled, “Why
Water?” which BMG Foundation commissioned and wrote for the initiative. The
video sheds light on the vital need to raise water conservation awareness. A water
crisis has already begun and is a global predicament with particular pressing urgency
in Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Middle East.

The BMG Foundation successfully launched its new environment initiative this June
during the 14th annual GCC Polo Cup in Windsor, UK with the participation of HE
Mr. Hazem Malhas, Jordan's Minister of Environment.
