PREPARATION AND MAINTENANCE OF PRACTICAL RECORDS

CLASS XII PHYSICS

 There are 15 experiments, 5 activities and one investigatory project in Physics.

 Record should be covered and the name, class, roll no etc. must be written neatly.
Roll No should not be entered inside the record as it is for Board Registration No.
 All right pages of the record must be numbered.
 Your record must be divided into three parts: the first 40 sheets for Section A
experiments, next 40 sheets for Section B and the last 20 sheets for Activities.
 Expt. No. and Date must be entered in the margin below the first line.
 All headings must be written in capital letters and the writing should be started in the
next line.
 AIM, APPARATUS, THEORY, PROCEDURE, RESULTS, SOURCES OF ERROR and
PRECAUTIONS are to be written in the RIGHT pages. Diagrams, OBSEVATIONS,
Calculations, Substitutions and Graphs are to be in LEFT pages. If a right page will
have been used for an experiment, then you can use the left page of the next sheet
for the next experiment.
 Tabular columns must be drawn symmetrically and neatly with the units on the top of
each column. All entries must be made with black/blue pen. The same colour must be
used throughout the record.
 Record must be written according to the instruction (directly /email) without data
and submitted for verification beforehand. AIM, APPARATUS, THEORY, CIRCUIT
DIAGRAM/RAY DIAGRAM and RESULT with NO and DATE must also be written
beforehand in observation book. These are the minimum requirement to attend the
practical classes and it is the responsibility of the students only to fulfill the above
mentioned without fail.
 It is mandatory for all students to have log tables, graph sheets and complete
instrument box during practical classes. Strict discipline should be maintained in the
lab.
 The signature in the observation book and record of the previous experiment is
required to appear for the next practical classes.
 Students should use the lab items with care and make sure that these are returned
back to lab assistant in proper condition.
 All the students must aware the safety measures of the lab.
 Students are advised to use the virtual labs to familiarise the apparatus and the
experiments.
