Contemporary Management Issues examines the way of thinking that is needed to address issues
as they emerge. Contemporary issues have arisen as a result of past, and current, thinking and
practices. Similarly, future issues will emerge as a result of current thinking and practices. One
of the dominant themes in quality management literature is the degree of complexity that the
contemporary manager must be able to take into account in making decisions that shape the
response to current issues and the future of their organizations.
Matrices PayOff:
Although the rules for Rock, Paper, Scissors are relatively easy to remember, you can summarize
them even better by using a payoff matrix. A payoffmatrix_ is defined as a visual representation
of all the possible outcomes that can occur when two people or groups have to make a strategic
decision.
Decision Trees:
A decision tree is a decision support tool that uses a tree-like graph or model of decisions and
their possible consequences, including chance event outcomes, resource costs, and utility. It is
one way to display an algorithm that only contains conditional control statements.
