Performance notes

Guitar effects and their recommended set up:

Notation1 :

I. The vibrato bar is to be depressed before the first note, and released while
sliding down with the left hand to the next chord.

II. This crescendo means that the volume on the guitar has to be at 0 when striking the chord and
quickly turned up afterwards.

III. Play the grace notes muted by the right hand very rapidly before striking the note.

1 For some of the markings I used the following guide as a reference: http://www.frankgambale.com/guitar_notation_legend.pdf
IV. Bend the lower note and push down the vibrato bar simultaneously.

V. Pull off.

VI. Hammer on.

VII. Tremolo picking: the notes are to be played as rapidly and continuously as possible.

VIII. Bend up the first note to the pitch of the second (in rhythm).

IX. Same as VIII. but here the first note is played as quickly as possible.

X. Vibrato bar dive and tremolo: push down a half step, release, and shake the bar to give a
vibrating effect.

XI. Play the first note and slide up with the same finger to the second. Both notes are
struck.

XII. The pitch of the chord is dropped by using the vibrato bar and then released
back to the original pitch.

XIII. Muted by the right hand.

XIV. Quickly bend up a quarter tone.

XV. Grab both notes simultaneously with one finger and bend up and down slowly while holding both.
