Asset worth of BHEL, recorded as on 2008 March, was about $5.17 billion. Profits earned
between April 2007 and March 2008 amounted to about $0.56 billion from sales totaling nearly

Awards and recognition

 By winning 3 Vishwakarma National Awards for 2007, BHEL reached a landmark figure
of getting a total of 100 Vishwakarma National Awards.
 BHEL in 2008 received Engineering Export Promotion Council’s (EEPC) top export
order for 18th year in succession.

Current financial crisis

Global financial crisis has forced BHEL to postpone its project of developing 8 units of 800
megawatt power generation facilities till 2011.
