Directions: Each sentence below is part of the story of Cinderella. Read the sentences. Then use 
the plot diagram below to put them in the correct order. Write the correct number inside each 
circle.  
 
1.  Cinderella goes to the ball, meets the prince, and they fall in love.   
2.  Cinderella’s father marries a mean woman who has two spoiled daughters. 
The king of a nearby kingdom wishes his son to marry, and arranges a ball so that 
3.  his son can meet all of the eligible young ladies in the kingdom. 
Running away as the clock begins to strike twelve, Cinderella loses one of her 
4.  glass slippers. 
5.  The stepsisters try on the slipper and fail. 
Cinderella’s father dies and her stepmother makes Cinderella be a servant

The prince finds the slipper, and searches the kingdom for the girl whose foot fits

Cinderella, who is locked in her room, escapes in time to try on the slipper. It fits, 
9.  and she and the prince live happily ever after. 
A fairy godmother gives Cinderella a beautiful dress and a carriage to go to the 
10.  ball, but the magic will all end at midnight.
