AMS School Progress Key Actions 2017 – 2018

Reading and Math Key Actions:


 Develop and utilize formative assessments to inform instruction on a daily basis using FAME guidelines,
strategies (class discussions, questioning, observation, student work analysis, and pre-assessment) and
articulation (explanation of success criteria).
 Design daily lesson plans that include targeted small group instruction, customization and personalization,
interventions for remediation and enrichment, and opportunities for student metacognition.
 Provide multiple opportunities to practice strategies that promote and enhance literacy skills (reading,
writing, listening, and speaking).

Climate Key Actions:


 Implement the PBIS program with fidelity and teach students PBIS protocols and character education lessons
promoting the values of P.R.I.D.E.
 Teach, foster, and reinforce P.R.I.D.E. values by promoting student voice with a student advisory team,
student ambassadors, and the AMS after-school programs.
 Model conflict resolution appropriate for the development of middle school students and promote positive
student relationships with peers and adults.
