Thevenin’s Equivalent Circuit

Figure 1

 Connect the circuit as shown in Figure 1, using the dual power supply output
“Master” and “Slave”. Make sure you lay out the circuit on the bread board with the
horizontal and vertical components with the SAME orientation as in the circuit
diagram.
 Using two DMM’s and starting with load resistance RL = 82Ω, measure the load
voltage and current.
 Repeat the procedure above using load resistance of 47Ω, 130Ω (120Ω + 10Ω), 180Ω,
220Ω.

Figure 2
 Connect the Thevenin’s Equivalent Circuit as shown in Figure 2 using the values
calculated in your pre-laboratory.
 Measure and record the load voltage and current for each of the previous load
conditions: RL = 47Ω, 82Ω, 130Ω, 180Ω, 220Ω.
2. Mesh Analysis/Nodal Analysis

Figure 3

 Connect the circuit, as shown in Figure 3.

 Using the Digital Multimeter measure:
o The voltage across each resistor
o The current through each resistor
o The voltage at points 1, 2 & 3 with reference to GND (the nodal voltage reference
point).
