IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING CONTENT FOR FINAL RECITALS

Regarding the intent to use profanity, explicitly insensitive content, or other potentially
disturbing material in a Final Recital, in the name of "artistic freedom", the following guidelines
apply.
1) Any student proposing to use such material in either a mini-recital, or a final recital, will be
expected to observe the following: said material may not not be deemed hurtful or insulting to
a specific group of people, nor any specific person.
2) Said student, prior to using this material, will arrange to have a meeting with myself and
their Creative Development teacher, to establish that this usage is within the normal range of
artistic freedom.
3) If the proposal is accepted, the student must put a warning of intent to use said material, in
any electronic communication, invitation, or hard copy poster being put out. It is not acceptable
to warn the audience at the time of performance…it must be in advance.
