2. Introduction

Teaching English through stories is a good strategy to motivate children in their foreign language learning process. In fact, young learners develop
communicative and cognitive skills when they read in class since they improve pronunciation, learn new words, and acquire lexicon. This lesson plan is
a methodological route for the class where children learn English, but also they can express their feelings and emotions taking into account the plot of
the story. English teacher should encourage the participation of each student and achieve a moment of reflection at the end of the class.

. Objectives:
- To employ picture books as a tool to learn new vocabulary in English.
- Recognize the students’ preferences to engage them to the class’ contents and activities.
- Use stories as a way to develop the communicative competence in students.
