DOCUMENTO DE TRAZABILIDAD
Abstract. The need to improve the process related to the requirements has been evident for several years.
Likewise, the traceability allows to evaluate the implications that can have the change of one of the
requirements, in early stages or even in the implementation stage, in a bidirectional way, from its origin to its
implementation and vice versa.
Through this article we present and discuss several fundamental definitions given by some authors about
different topics related to the concept of traceability and its usefulness in the requirements process.
After this, a case study is presented that shows how an analysis can be made from the analysis stage, to the
implementation stage. This is within a software development process. For purposes of this example, we use the
Unified Process (PU) methodology supported by the RUP (Rational Unified Process) software, specifically the
tool called Rational Requsite Pro.
