United States is one of the biggest powers in the world, this country is located in North

America, whereas Peru is one of the most fortunate countries in the world. I say this
because our country has incredible places to visit, tasty food, our rivers, lakes and sea
remain intact and our flora and faun win us over that we have so many things not to envy
other countries. In this opportunity, I’m going to make a comparison between United
States and Peru, responding the following question, what makes American and Peruvian
happy?
The first section, I’ll talk about similarities:
1. Loved ones: Peruvians and Americans both are able to lose track of time when
they are spending quality time with their family or friends. For instance: going to
the movie, having dinner, playing board-games or sports, or they can spend all the
afternoon bursting out in laughing when they remember funny events from their
past, I mean anything that reunites relatives and friends.

2. Food: Who is not happy with a full stomach? In U.S, people are considered
themselves happy by eating french fries, ice cream, fried chicken, hamburgers,
pizzas, that kind of junk food similarly to the Peruvians one, also another part of
Peruvian people are thankful to have healthy food to consume like maca, quinua,
avena, anticuchos, ceviche, lomo saltado, and more delicious dishes.

Now, I’ll talk about differences:

3. Two kinds of entertainment: American are known by hanging out at parties or
musical festivals. That’s true, but you imagine how stressful they are. So, I
consider that parents normally talk their children into going to a peaceful place
like a cabin in a remote place. On the other hand, Peru isn’t a technological
country with modern buildings or sophisticated malls, so we would like to visit
Hong Kong, New York, Russia, France, because these countries are more
industrialized and everything there can impress us.

4. Income: Americans are happy when they reach an agreement for making an
investment, however Peruvians prefer to put their money away for their future,
they aren’t risk – taker.

In conclusion, I consider that American people are happier than Peruvians, because a
person, who is studying or working in the U.S, will have more opportunities to increase
their income, I know that money don’t buy happiness but it’s an essential part to move on
your life. In Peru we can have all the resources of the world, but if people can’t get a good
job to pay off their debts, they won’t be happy.
