Learn about how to use Audio Generator
Learn function of each button on Audio Generator
Apply particular frequency from Audio Generator and
measure it on DSO

i) What is Audio or Signal Generator?

A signal generator is an electronic device that generates repeating or non-repeating electronic signals in
either the analog or the digital domain. It is generally used in designing, testing, troubleshooting, and
repairing electronic or electroacoustic devices, though it often has artistic uses as well.

ii) Audio Frequency Generator, and measure time period and frequency of applied A.C
signal from DSO
Procedure:
1) Turn of audio generator, and make connections to DSO channel-1 and press CH1 botton.
2) Apply 1KHz frequency from the audio generator and select coupling mode on DSO,
3) Set time/div scale accordingly
4) Measure the time period for one complete wave

Experimental Calculations:
1 big box=250us
one full wave covered in 4 boxes, so T=250us×4=1000us.
f=1/T
f=1/1000us
f=1000Hz or f=1KHz

Regulated Power Supply and DSO

1) Turn on the DC power supply
2) Adjust the voltage at 12V using volt meter.
3) Adjust the diode and resistor on bread board in series connection with the dc power supply
4) Make connection to the DSO channel-1 and press CH-1 button on DSO
5) Adjust the time/div scale accordingly
6) Select the DC-coupling mode the oscilloscope
