Two of the largest cities in Southern Indiana are Evansville and Terre Haute, with
Evansville situated right on the boarder to Kentucky and Terre Haute two hours
to the north. When combined these markets make up over 1 million people 12+.
Midwest Communications brings you nine radio stations throughout these two
markets. The listeners of our radio stations spend over $4 Billion annually in area
retail sales in many different retail categories.
Where else can you work with one sales rep, purchase nine radio stations with
one phone call, cover all of Southern Indiana and tap into a population that’s
spending over $4 Billion annually? Midwest Communications can do that for you!
women play a role
Studies show that women drive almost 80% of all consumer purchasing, whether .
that’s through directly making the purchases or influencing the person that’s
making the purchase. Targeting women within any community is valuable and
in some instances imperative in order to reach the person in each household
making the decisions of where money will be spent.
Also remember that women have the multiplier effect. Since women serve as
caregivers to now only their children but also possibly to elderly people in
their lives, women buy on behalf of many people which makes them even more
valuable to an advertiser.
Finding women throughout the Evansville market isn’t difficult! For women 18-
54, WSTO has a 15.7 share and WIKY has a 9.2 share. When you drill down to
where each station does its best work, WSTO women 18-34 has a 18.9 share and
WIKY women 25-54 has a 21.3 share. These two stations dominate women in the
Evansville market.
For Terre Haute, the story is the same. Looking at women 18-54, WMGI has
an 18.9 share, WTHI at 15.1, WDWQ at 9.4 and WWVR at a 7.5 share. WMGI
dominates for women 18-34 with a 25 share and WTHI is in the #2 spot with
a 20.8 share. Just like in Evansville, the Midwest radio stations in Terre Haute
dominate the airwaves and deliver you with the top 4 radio stations in the
market.
Together these two markets control 65% of the buying power in each market and
when it comes to immediacy, you won’t find a better medium than radio. Radio
is the #1 medium closet to the point of purchase and connects to consumers on
a more intimate level. Radio is a companion for many local listeners providing
information and music in their car, at their work and through their phone.
Midwest Communications is a dominant force and one that would love to help
you grow your business.

hostess. Born in Evansville, she has lived in all three of the TriState
states. During her gradeschool years in Henderson County Debra
was a Hebbardsville Bulldog before attended Marissa Jr-Sr High
School in Southwestern Illinois. She is a Saluki with a Communica-
tion degree from SIU. GO DAWGS! After working around the coun-
try at various radio stations from Carbondale, St. Louis, Chicago,
Wichita, and Southern California, she came back to the place of
her birth to join WIKY. In her spare time, she fosters for a local ani-
mal rescue which is her passion. She also loves gardening, knitting,
hiking, traveling, and walking (slowly) in half-marathons.
Diane douglas
Diane Douglas is the co-host of the WIKY Morning Show. She came
to Evansville in September of 2000 from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In
1992, she began her radio career at WOLX-FM in Madison, Wiscon-
sin. Since coming to WIKY from sister station WSTO in 2005, the
WIKY Morning Show has consistently been the #1 rated morning
show in the Tri-State and she and her partner, Dennis Jon Bailey,
won a Marconi Award for broadcast excellence in 2011. Diane is
an avid sports fan, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, Cleveland
Indians, St. Louis Cardinals and Reitz Panthers as well as the many
local sports teams in Evansville. She and her husband, Jeff Thomp-
son, live on the West Side of Evansville with their two cats, Lucy
and Gracie, and their yellow lab Zoe.
Cooper
Cooper is a recent graduate of the University Southern Indiana and
has lived in the tri-state for most of his life. He was originally born
about an hour South of Cleveland, Ohio but moved to Newburgh at
a young age and has grown up in the surrounding area. Coop grad-
uated from Castle High School in 2013 and originally planned to
major in History and become a teacher but plans changed when he
decided that he was more passionate and intrigued by radio. Coo-
per started at HOT 96 doing shifts on the weekend but eventually
carved out a home for himself on the HOT 96 Morning Show and
that’s where he’s been ever since. Coop is an introvert and lover of
life’s finest things: beer, burritos and hip-hop music.
Claire ballard
Claire is an Evansville native and a University of Southern Indiana
graduate who got her full-time start in radio at HOT 96 in 2010.
Since then she has worked for multiple radio stations in Las Vegas,
NV, and just recently returned home to Evansville as host of the
HOT 96 Morning Show. Claire has a passion for her hometown and
enjoys being an active part of the community by supporting local
businesses, charities and other organizations, as well as events.
She’s a regular twenty-something who lives in the Haynie’s Corner
Arts District, has a love/hate relationship with pop culture, and a
pizza addiction. She spends her free time traveling to nearby cities,
shopping, restaurant and bar hopping with friends, playing basket-
ball or practicing hot yoga, and spending time with her family.
Trish Knight
In 1992 Trish had the unexpected pleasure of working up on the
hill. Without a lick of radio experience, she started a part-time,
overnight, weekend shift on WIKY. After 5 short years, while host-
ing Love Songs After Dark, she was asked to work for the compa-
ny’s new station. She jumped at the chance to sink her teeth into
another format. She had no idea she would end up in The Rock
Penthouse. 107.5 WABX turns 20 next year and she couldn’t be
more proud than she is right now, right here...on the only rock sta-
tion (all genres included) worth listening to.

I’ve been in the entertainment business since the age of 14
years old. I played music most of my young life. Classical, Jazz,
and of course in a rock/country band. After College I started
doing standup comedy. I was lucky enough to work with some
great people and was on HBO for 2 minutes. I worked with
Sam Kinison, Rosie O’Donnell, Kathleen Madigan, Jeff Foxwor-
thy, Louie Anderson and most recently Ralphie May. I still
dabble in Comedy when I get a chance. While doing comedy I
was lucky enough to meet my wife. I stopped touring and
settled in the adequate paying job of radio. We have two
wonderful boys. I’m a lucky man for sure.
Jai R
I’ve done radio in Houston, Dallas, Kansas City, the Bay Area
in California, and now here! It’s been a great adventure doing
what I love to do. I mean where else do you get to listen to
music, talk to people, get to be creative, goofy, and get paid
for it. I’ve had the pleasure of working with some great people,
and along the way meeting some great artists like: Michael
and Janet Jackson, AC/DC, Def Leppard, Poison, Rob Thom-
as, NKOTB, Puff Daddy, Akon, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Garth,
George Strait, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and many
more. It has been an awesome experience and can’t wait to
meet YOU!
Party MArty
I’m the Morning Host on HI 99. I graduated from Eastern
Greene High School and moved to Terre Haute in 1984 to
work as a Parts Salesman at a Chevrolet dealership. I started
out in radio in 1986 doing some character voices and discov-
ered that radio was a lot more fun than a real job, so that’s
what I’ve been doing since. I am a NASCAR Fan, love the Red
Sox and, most of all, enjoy watching my daughter Kelly play
sports. I love to fish and remember, if you ever see me out, my
favorite beer is Bud Light.

Born and raised on the south side of Terre Haute! I graduated
from both Terre Haute South Vigo High School & Indiana State
University. I’m an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana
State Sycamores and Indiana Hoosiers! I also enjoy going to
concerts. I recently got married so I keep busy with a rather
lengthy ‘honey do list!’ I’ve enjoyed my 15+ years being a part
of the HI-99 team. I love the Wabash Valley and think some of
the best people in the world call this community home!

I “discovered” Led Zeppelin when I was in middle school, and
I’ve been hooked on classic rock ever since. So, when The
River brought me on in 1999, I was all “I’m getting paid to work
here?!” Somehow, I’m STILL here. Yeah, I don’t get it either.
Seriously, though, thank you for your support of The River all
these years. I’m excited to be on 98.5!
