For sure that, manually record raw data from verbal communication can be very inconvenience

and not to mention that it’s difficult to remember all details of important meeting. By installing
applications, it convinces human’s life to be easier than past time. As name in web application, it
mostly uses internet access to enable user to perform their idealize tasks. Access time of system
might be faster than application software because web application consists of Web site, which
gathers multiple numbers of Web pages with variety of functions. These bring to reason that web
application is better in searching for details and proven information, compared to application
software. Of course, application software can provide information for users; however when
encountered ambiguous and complex problem that cannot be supported/solved by application
software (maybe because of insufficient information that store inside it or complexity of problem
had exceed range handling of it), web application can help as mentioned that it usually connected
with wireless network (UTAR, 2018).

Word processor

Word is the most common word processor to be utilized as editing drafts, saving file and
document, maybe school essays until job resumes, while Google Docs is web-based platform
which performs exchanging information from one party to another using internet connection. For
the compatible session, first are needs of internet access; as Word in online mode cannot provide
large capacity to deal with complex files but if it does, program might have bugs or crash server
for using it. While, Google Docs as cross-platform word processor can be used fully online (with
internet connection), with no need of downloading/installing software and program that sits large
spaces on computer, it directly accessed by login/sign in into respective google account then will
transfer to the web browser such as Windows, Mac OS X, and Chrome OS.
Another thing is that how capable is the program when is needed to open/compare different types
of document and file format. Google Docs can deal with Microsoft files, not only that the
program can exports, it also recognizes and compares variety of extensions files such as ODT,
PDF, HTML, TXT. As in Word, it can only perform fewer documents such as PDF or DOCX.
Some documents from Google Docs will need to be converted into Word file, only that the
document and inside-content can be manipulated (Ciccarelli, 2017).
For the features provided, Google Docs allows sharing information and exchanging feedback. It
not only helps students to focus on given tasks, but also can give teachers a good time to
distribute instructions clearly and effectively; by providing chances to have direct responds
anytime once accessed to the internet connection (online status). For example, test body can be
highlighted if wanted to put comment into it then the comment box will appear at the right side
of the page; also can click/move the pointer of the mouse to the comments, it will directly
highlight/bold the sentences as conveniences. Google Docs allows mini-chat/collaboration
between teachers and students by giving them features of virtual communication (non-verbally),
anytime at anywhere (Oxnevad, 2013).

The second feature of Google Docs to be discussed is the integrated research tool which located
on the right side of the page. The usage of it basically is search any relevant/related content of
the typed text/file being selected, by clicking it to provide users editing, inserting, changing or
other functions when dealing with common files (links, pictures, figures, data, maps, tables and
citations). Maybe it spreads till a very wide range in providing information for users, so for those
users such as students who need to find basic information (meaning of words, summary of topic,
pictures), this research feature in Google Docs can reduce the range of information (make the
path narrower) with giving them convenient and compatible access to ideal information, where
those already stored at ‘basic meaning’ session (Oxnevad, 2013).

Another feature for Google Docs is the revision history; which also formed a comment-box liked
base in order to observe again (review), analyze context with another (compare), or track
previous actions that performs by users. By clicking on the icon, it allows users to recognize all
details of the selected text, includes displaying time and date of data, source of filing and also
error/mistake that done (which compatible using colour difference). So, revision history as
mentioned on its name, encourage/provide opportunity for students/users to revise/learn back
from their mistakes and very convenience to use it (Oxnevad, 2013).

For Word part, as most of us knew that it already came with fix/standard format such as font size
and style, margins, line spacing; but these can be altered for our own preferred style. Not only
adding pictures, references, headings on the document, Word provides more than that (increases
advanced features availability).

First, it gave convenient feature such as the object icon for sure, which lead to
formation/development and conversion of raw data into tables and graphs in only few clicks. By
keying in/inserting data into proper method, select on it then click on object icon which shows
variety of presenting data (charts, bars, graphs), Word will display the processed/tabulated data
as context that consists meaning of data into information, because graph usually easier
implemented than raw data, which bring no meaning (Basu, 2015).

Then, another feature of Word is the equation and symbol icon (write equation). For these, users
have no need to struggle using subscript and superscript icon to change size of figures into its
equation form, and also no need copy symbol of equation from internet/other places. As the
usage of Equation Toolbar provides chances to users to design/create their own
equations/calculations which are essential for specific fields such as mathematics, physics, and
chemistry. It also presents famous/most utilized equations and inserted it into respective text just
need a click, which includes area of various shape, binomial equation and even ambiguous
summation questions (Basu, 2015).

Moreover, security is most essential feature for users. Word introduces Document Inspector,
which claims as central console for this program. It helps to check/ensure document selected by
users to become private and confidentially. It will give notification to users when they wanted to
erase/delete respective document if only users wished so (Basu, 2015).
