Describe  the  instructional  activities  that  will  occur  PRIOR  to  the  SRT  activity  and  how  you  will  introduce  
the  SRT  activity.  
 
The  teacher  will  begin  the  lesson  by  telling  the  students  that  they  are  going  to  discuss  something  that  
everyone  uses  every  single  day.  Ask  the  students  what  they  think  the  topic  will  be;  allow  three  guesses  and  
tell  them  that  they  will  be  discussing  money.  Place  the  four  coins  and  dollar  pictures  on  an  anchor  chart  with  
the  name  of  each  underneath.  The  teacher  will  lead  the  discussion  on  money.

Briefly  describe  what  will  happen  DURING  the  SRT  activity:    
 
The  students  will  work  their  way  through  a  Nearpod  lesson  that  is  led  by  the  teacher.  The  lesson  begins  with  a  
fun  song  to  catch  the  students’  attention  and  hook  them  into  the  lesson.  Throughout  it’s  entirety,  the  
students  will  complete  various  activities  that  are  engaging  and  fun,  while  also  very  informative  for  the  
teacher.  Some  of  the  activities  include  an  interactive  quiz,  matching  game,  and  fill  in  the  blank.

Describe  what  will  happen  AFTER  the  SRT  activity?  
 
The  students  will  fill  out  a  fill  in  the  blank  worksheet  over  coins’  names  and  amounts.  They  will  use  this  
worksheet  to  further  help  them  complete  a  set  of  word  problems  dealing  with  money.    
 
How  will  the  data  be  used?      
 
This  information  will  be  used  to  a  variety  of  reasons.  I  will  use  the  word  problem  worksheet  as  a  grade  in  the  
gradebook.  I  will  also  use  the  worksheet  as  a  guide  to  show  students’  parents  their  progress  of  completing  a  
standard.  I  will  also  use  this  information  to  diffuse  my  students  into  math  small  groups  for  differentiation.    
 
Describe  your  personal  learning  goal  for  this  activity.      
 
Nearpod  is  a  new  experience  for  me  as  a  teacher.  I  will  use  this  tool  as  a  Student  Response  Tool  to  see  how  
engaged  my  students  are  in  the  topic.  I  hope  this  will  help  the  students  stay  engaged  throughout  the  entirety  
of  the  lesson,  and  that  it  will  also  help  them  better  understand  the  topic.    
 
Reflective  Practice:    
 
I  believe  that  this  type  of  Student  Response  Tool  will  keep  students  engaged  fully.  There  are  so  many  different  
activities  to  be  completed  throughout  the  course  of  the  Nearpod.  As  an  extension  to  this  activity,  I  would  
instruct  students  to  create  their  own  Nearpod  over  money  and  have  other  students  complete  the  activities  
that  the  original  student  created.
