God Said It's Good

I.

The morning sunshine's on our world

What perfect gladness reigns

Where harmony's on every breeze

And every creature aims

To give eternal life away

Though none of them could die

By serving, loving, laying down

And thus learning to fly

They're standing 'round a clearing now

O, what is it they see?

Is that the Lord, Almighty God

Down on His bended knee?

He's got His fingers in the dirt

He's been in shape like me

And now He breathes, and that dirt sees

What it's supposed to be

II.

Man blinks His eyes, He hears the cries

Of animals and …n

They seem to know that He's their King

They seem to know the same

And nothing can remove his gaze

From Jesus' lovely face

Till hand in hand, they toured the land

Prepared for him by race

Before the day is finished though

God lays him down once more

It seems creation's incomplete

Has this happened before?

And sunset fin'lly settles down

And Sabbath starts first time

The man has a companion

And God's words are so sublime

Chorus:

God said it's good, so very good

This is the dream I dreamed

When life first streamed

That this moment…

…Bright as the sun

Should be the image of their God that … flame

Across the face of this creation like a …

And so the universe will never be the same

He said it's good

III.

The evening light gets way into night

And yet it's bright within

Six thousand years and countless tears

Had followed after sin

But still God breathes and still dirt sees

The gift that's always been

Redemption's plan brings fallen man

His crown again to win

The morning once again reveals

That God yet faithful reigns

And harmonies fill every breeze

Where every creature aims

To give their little lives away

E'en if they have to die

By serving, loving, laying down

And thus learning to fly

(repeat Chorus)

Coda:

She blinks her eyes and laughter flies

Across the fields below

This miracle as old as earth

…to know

For faithful love that promises

'Tis legacy that grows

A harvest that could change the world

Bring life where'er it goes
