Yes indeed, for certain culture as Sundanese who need effort to pronunce ; /p/ /f/ /v/ the
grammar matter will be affected a lot.
2. I agree that all matters need to be considered for the effectivity of learning progress of the
students. Socialbackground can be considered when teacher want to give a task as well as
gender. Female usually forbiden to come home late even for school task. Ethnicity and culture
are our trademark of multicultural society. Tolerance and understandings of each ot her need
to be preserved as well as the tradition. Age is considerable also. Teaching elementary ages
will be much different than Senior high school level. Teenager tends to be sexually active
means they will try too attract their opposite sex wich sometimes disturbs the concerntration.
Yet, they can motivate each other under good supervision.
It is important to find out about the entry language
abilities/skills of students, which can be found out by testing
them, using their previous scores, and/or observe them
perform.
program pembelajaran.

Yes, it is important to find out what the students can do with their language skills or abilities they have
learnt by those three methods: testing them, using their previous scores, and/or observe them perform.
Testing them is a good effort to know some changings of students’ skills and abilities. Teacher could use
entry test not only to measure how qualified enough the students are but as an early stage to choose the
right paths in learning process as Gerlach & Ely (1971) stated.
Usingtheir previous score obviously reflect their prior knowledge and will affect what and how they learn
in the future. Thus, Dick and Carey said, it makes one of the most important component in designing a
subject study. I’d love to say that prior knowledge is kind of students’ proficiency measurement for
teachers in developing their learning programs considering it would be wasting time and energy when
teachers teach materials that students can’t handle.
Observing students while performing seems the most accurate to measure the latest but not least skills
and abilities.

To identify student characteristics (left/right brain hemisphere,

levels of confidence, learning styles, learning strategies etc.) an
EFL teacher can make use of the available instruments mentioned
by Brown (2007).

Teaching according to the Natural approach focuses on a realistic goal

that’s communicative abilities. Moreover, one of its objectives is to help
beginners become intermediate and perfect choice for those who fond of
visual aids to help comprehension. It focus is on listening and reading while
speaking emerges later. Just like Total Phisical Response, it uses command
drills
Communicative Language Teaching group work activities where learners
share information to complete a task.
Self-confidence: This factor is based on the previous learning experiences
of each individual. It is also a relatively stable factor that is difficult to
change. The use of the Scoreboard could help improve the self confidence
of the learners, especially if the teacher respects students by praising
individual students who do things right but avoiding pointing at those not
doing things as they should.
