CV – Iswadi Pratama

Iswadi Pratama, born on April 8th 1971, is a renowned playwright from Lampung
province in southern Sumatra Island, Indonesia. Graduated from Social and
Political Science Faculty of Lampung University, Pratama then worked as editor
for Sumatra Post and Lampung Post before eventually decided to totally pursue
art in literary and theater.

Along with his wife, Pratama founded a theater club, Teater Satu on October 18th
1996. Some o his plays have been performed by Teater Satu namely Ruang
Sekarat, Rampok, Ikhau, Nak, Menunggu Saat Makan, Dongeng tentang Air,
Orang-Orang Setia, Kisah-Kisah yang Mengingatkan, dan Aruk Gugat.

He contributed to the development of theater in Lampung by starting Student

Teater Festival and Student Teater Social Gathering at the time when theater and
other forms of arts in Indonesia was still centralized in Java.

As an author, Pratama established himself as the best lyrical poet of Lampung to

date. His works inspire audience in many ways. His poetry talks about humanity
that people can relate to. He has published three poetry anthologies; Belajar
Mencintai Tuhan (collaborated with Ahmad Yulden Erwin) in 1992, Gema Secuil
Batu in 2008, and Harakah Haru in 2015.

 Editor of Sapu Lidi tabloid under the auspices of Koak (Anti-Corruption
Committee)
