FREE INCOME TAX RETURN – NO CHARGES – SELF SUBMISSION

Submit your income tax Return ITR1 based on your Form 16 at the following site:

https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/portal/index.do (Add this to your favourites to use it subsequently)

Pre-requisites – Register as a user with your PAN first.

Procedure to submit return:

1. Down load the ITR1 from the site which is an excel sheet and fill your personal details and salary
details in the worksheet1

2. Add Tax deduction details in the worksheet2

3. Run the option ‘Compute Income Tax’ which automatically fills the worksheet3

4. Check Validation option for sheet entries

5. Generate XML file/save XML file

6. Go to site (as given above), login and upload xml file

7. Submission is complete and an acknowledgement ITRV is available to you

8. Sign the same and submit to the address given in ITRV in ORDINARY POST only
