Narrator: How to bring the Shivaji to book and break his revolt?

Badi Saheba: Tell me, who is willing to march against Shivaji and put an end to his rebellion.
Narrator: The court became silent. Everybody sat quietly in his place and started looking at the next person, for who
would dare to accept the chalange of fighting Shivaji?
Narrator: A giant man came and accepted the challenge and his name was Afzal Khan.
Afzal Khan: Shivaji……… Whos is Shivaji? I shall arrest him and bring him here or if that is not possible, I shall bring his dead
body.
Narrator: Afzal Khan left Bijapur in great pomp accompanied by a huge army. At this time Shivaji was at Rajgad. After
hearing Afzal Khan movement, he immediately consulted the Jijabai and with her blessing he shifted his
headquarters from Rajgad to Pratapgad as part strategic move to defeat Afzal Khan. Azal Khan tried many moves
to bring Shaivaji down to plain but Shivaji proved to be clever and refused to leave pratapgad. Then Khan change
his tactic and wrote a message to Shivaji.
Afzal Khan: You are like a son to me. Come and see me. Return our forts and I shall see that Adilshah makes you sardar at his
court.
Narrator: Shivaji quickly saw through the Khan’s offer. He was taking no chances. He decided somehow to persuade the
khan to come up to the fort.
