I, Gurpinder Singh, resident of Phulwala Muktsar sahib, Muktsar. Gurpreet kaur is my wife.

Our marriage
is arranged by our family. My family and Gurpreet kaur’s families have very friendly relationship. We
used to meet each other and see each other in family functions as she belongs to the relatives of the
family of my maternal aunt.

In September 2017 my paternal aunt Sukhjeet kaur and my maternal aunt Gurwinder kaur act
as mediator to bond us into marriage. On 14 September 2017 Gurpreet kaur’s parents’ paternal uncle,
grandmother and paternal sworn aunt came to our house to see me and my family. They the date 18
September 2017 to do the “Engagement ceremony”.

On 18 September 2017 “Engagement ceremony was done in Gurpreet kaur’s house. In

engagement ceremony both sides of parents, nearest relatives and some family friends were p[resent.
About 20 persons from girl’s side and 30 persons from our side were present at engagement ceremony.
After that the marriage date was fixed on 10 November 2017. On 9 November 2017, before one day of
marriage “Shagun ceremony” was done in our house. About 100 people were present in that ceremony.

We both belong to Sikh family and the marriage was performed by Sikh rituals (Anand karj). At
our Anand karj, the gathering of 80-100 persons was present at gurudwara. The functions of marriage
were held at chand marriage palace, kot talwandi, bye pass faridkot in which 500 people were gathered.
We lived together as husband and wife from 10 November 2017 to 19 December 2017.

My wife wanted to pursue her studies in Canada. That’s why on 19 December 2017 she went
to Canada on study visa. We missed each other very much but we continued our relationship by using
electronic communication e.g. Skype chat, whatsapp, face time to get in touch.

Thanking you

Yours sincerely
