The authors regret that in the materials and methods of this study, the litter addition was incorrectly stated as 10 mg litter-C per g of
soil-C when the actual addition rate was 100 mg litter-C per g soil C. This resulted in an N addition of 170 mg of fresh litter N per g soil N and
380 mg pre-incubated litter N per g of soil N. All other calculations are correct and this does not impact the results, discussion, or
interpretation of the data as written. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
