SEDUDO WATERFALL

Sedudo Waterfall is a waterfall located in the Ngliman Village, District of Sawahan, Nganjuk
Regency. For about 30km we can reach this waterfall from the city by car. This 105m waterfall not
only offers you the beauty of its nature, but also the cultural activity such as Traditional Ceremony
held by the society and government. So it is increase the tourist number, not only local tourist but
also tourist from foreign countries. That is why Sedudo Waterfall become the main icon of tourism
of Nganjuk Regency.

Along the road to Sedudo Waterfall you will be able to see beautiful rose garden and pine
woods. The situation of Sedudo Waterfall is so far from the noise of the city. Of course it makes the
situation around the waterfall which is located on Wilis Mount, is still natural. The air is fresh, the
water is clean and its nature panorama which is beautiful makes this waterfall memorable in your
heart and also unforgettable.

Every 1st of Suro (Javanese Month), Sedudo Waterfall held a traditional ceremony to bath the
statue which is called Prana Pratistha Ceremony or Siraman Sedudo. Generally, this ceremony consist
of traditional dance show, larung sesaji by the regent of Nganjuk. Tirta Amerta taking, and it is ended
by bathing together. After the ceremony, the visitor make an effort to grab the gunungan apem. Until
now the society believe that Sedudo has a supernatural power that can give us an everlasting young.

There are many facilities exist there, such as souvenir kiosk, dressing room and bathrooms,
parking and rest area, and many more. Every visitor who comes and get the ticketing entry the
guarantee of safety is available for them. Sedudo Waterfall also has an easy road to reach and don’t
worry if you want to spend a night, there is a hotel available.

The development of society economy around Sedudo Waterfall also increased by the tourist’s
visit. The society developing their main commodities (roses) to various product to bring home, such
as Rose Drink (made from rose extract), Rose Syrup, souvenir from sedudo, and many more.

The local government of Nganjuk Regency constructed a pool at the base of the waterfall so
the visitor will easily bath themselves. A fee of 3,000 Rupiah per person is charged to enter the area
around the waterfall. On weekday, the place is not so crowded, but if a weekend or national holiday,
the place becomes full with travelers who want to experience peace in this place and also enjoying
their times with family.
