Amateur Podcast League Draft Breakdown

The draft officially went through for the Amateur Podcast league. Most of us were there,
sadly The Fifth Down Podcast had to be on auto-draft but, they are still confident in their ability
to win (We will see about that). In this update, I will be breaking down my favorite and least
favorite picks for every team completely based off of my opinion. If you have a problem with it…
@me on twitter (@rologoat, Please follow me). No matter what I say, just know that I know that
we all know what we are doing. You know what I mean?

Backseat QB: #1 pick

My Favorite Picks: Mike Williams and David Njoku

Mike Williams in the eighth round is not crazy value, however, we felt as if Mike Williams
is someone that should be going higher. We think he is going to be big for our team being the
first receiver off the bench. Especially with injury prone Stefon Diggs and Allen Robinson (just
coming off an ACL tear) being our starting wideouts.

My Least Favorite Pick: Rex Burkhead

This is a lot more of a me thing than a Backseat QB thing. I don’t like the value of Rex in
the fourth. New England backfields are never safe and I am not too confident in Rex to emerge.
My co-host, Fantasy Jesus, is all aboard that Rex hype train, much to my chagrin.
Empty Wagon FF: #2 pick

My Favorite Picks: Jordan Howard and Corey Davis

I LOVE Jordan Howard. He is one of my guys this year. Especially with the addition of
Khalil Mack, The Chicago Bears are going to have some nice positive game scripts. Matt Nagy
will take Jordan Howard owners to the promised land (maybe). Corey Davis is a decent value in
the seventh round and has good potential to be a WR1 for this fantasy team that will need it.
The running backs are so strong but they need at least one of the receivers to breakout.

My Least Favorite Pick: Joe Mixon

Trust me, It's not because of Joe Mixon. It's only because of the roster makeup that I
don't love this pick. Going with two running backs in the first two rounds to me is a harbinger of
a receiver in the third round. There was still great receivers on the board such as A.J Green and
Tyreek hill. Personally, I would’ve grabbed one of them to really get a balanced team.
Sometimes a Fantasy Podcast: #3 pick

My Favorite Picks: Kenyan Drake and Golden Tate

Kenyan in the late fourth is a value to me. Being a Dolphins fan, I know that as long as
Adam Gase allows Kenyan to run loose, Kenyan will prove to be a STUD. I don't think Kalen
Ballage or Frank Gore will cut into as many carries as people think out there. Golden Tate is a
great value in the sixth. Always a reception machine and year to year is as consistent as they
come.

My Least Favorite Pick: Julian Edelman

I am really nitpicking here. Julian Edelman is just a risk considering there were younger
receivers who are not suspended for four games. Those include the two who went right after
Edelman, Allen Hurns and Sterling Shepard. There were better upside picks on the board to me.
Garage Guys: #4 pick

My Favorite Picks: Devante Adams and D.J Moore

Devante Adams is Aaron Rodger’s number one receiver. That following Ezekiel Elliott
spells trouble for the other teams. I love getting him at this slot. We (BackseatQB) were praying
for him to fall to us at the end of the second. D.J Moore is someone I find myself taking late in a
lot of drafts. The first receiver off the board in the 2018 NFL draft has potential to be the number
once receiver in a offense led by Cam Newton. Someone with that potential in the tenth is
nothing to scoff at.

My Least Favorite Pick: uhhh Aaron Jones I guess?

I really don't dislike any picks here so I'll just throw out Aaron Jones to get the
requirement out…Sad to say it but good job Garage Guys.
FantasyFuel: pick #5

My Favorite Picks: Tyreek Hill and Sterling Shepard

Tyreek Hill is a player that EVERYONE should be targeting this year. I am mad at myself
for not taking him. Tyreek should have a lot of opportunities for big plays with Gunslinger
Mahomes and that all offense no defence strategy that the Chiefs are taking this year. Sterling
Shepard is just a solid pick in the eleventh round. That offense should be dynamic so why not
take a share of it.

My Least Favorite Pick: Dallas Goedert

Im going to be honest here… I don't understand the pick. This is a redraft, Dallas
Goedert should not even be considered here. To each their own though…
CouchScouts: pick #6

My Favorite picks: Cooper Kupp and Andrew Luck

Cooper Kupp is a solid receiver who only stands to gain with Brandin Cooks in town.
Cooks deep should open up the crossing routes for Kupp and we saw last year the rapport that
Kupp and Jared Goff had developed. Kupp should be schemed open from offensive
mastermind, Sean Mcvay. Andrew Luck in the tenth is great value for the potential QB1. If
Andrew is able to return to form this pick will reap some major rewards.

My Least Favorite pick: Jay Ajayi

If you listen to our podcast… you will know how we feel. Jay Ajayi is not someone to
target. The Eagles may not even use him enough to be an RB2. Jay has a bone on bone issue
in his knee so he could break down at any moment. He was a ginormous bust last year, he is
still one this year.
FFFaceoff: pick #7

My Favorite Picks: Marquise Goodwin and Jamison Crowder

What a way to rebound from the three running backs in the first three rounds. Out of
respect for FFFaceoff, I will not mention Jerrick Mckinnon. Getting Marquise in the sixth is a
great value for someone who was on fire at the end of last year. His rapport with Jimmy GQ is
strong and will lead to stronger fantasy numbers. Jamison Crowder is the number one receiver
on a team that will throw a good amount. Sure, Jamison will not blow you away with his
numbers but, he will be as consistent as they come.

My Least Favorite Pick: Isaiah Crowell

I would prefer Bilal Powell who goes much later. There were a few more inspiring backs
left on the board. Players who have more potential than Crowell in my opinion. It obviously will
not break the team but, I think this spot could have been improved upon.
Fantasy Lens: pick #8

My Favorite Picks: Dion Lewis and Tom Brady

Dion Lewis is the little engine that could. Dion coming back from the ACL tear was not
guaranteed but last year he showed he could do it. Dion in the sixth is great value. Hats off for
this one. Tom Brady in the tenth is something that would shock the casual fantasy players. Even
in a league like this one, getting Tom in the tenth is great value.

My Least Favorite Pick: Alex Collins

Alex Collins should not go before Kenyan Drake or Royce Freeman in my opinion. Alex
is on such an uninspiring offense that I cannot envision him having the potential that Royce or
Kenyan have. I am sure Alex Collins will be alright but, in the third round you want more than
that.
The Fantasy Football Franchise: pick #9

My Favorite Picks: Larry Fitzgerald and Marvin Jones

Larry Legend is a great second option to pair with Odell Beckham Jr. Larry is a lock for
90 receptions and will be as consistent as they come. I love him in the fourth round. Marvin
Jones is tremendous value in the back of the seventh. There were quite a few receivers who
went before him that probably will not finish ahead of him by season’s end.

My Least Favorite Pick: Jimmy Graham

Honestly, It's not that I dislike Jimmy this year. I just think there were better tight ends
that went off the board later and Jimmy could’ve been waited on. Those tight ends include Evan
Engram and David Njoku.
Thefithdownpodcast: pick #10

My Favorite Picks: T.Y Hilton and George Kittle

Oh man, unlucky number ten was not so unfortunate. I love T.Y Hilton in the fourth
round. If you have listened to my podcast you would know that I think he is a lock for a top 10
receiver with Andrew Luck back this season. George Kittle is incredible value in the fourteenth
round. This is a round to take shots and George Kittle is not even a shot. He is already a made
basket. It is expected for him to have at least a decent year with Jimmy Garropolo.

My Least Favorite Pick: Ronald Jones

Ronald Jones may have had one of the worst pre-seasons ever. I cannot fathom taking
him before Peyton Barber who looked like a stud in pre-season. Peyton will be the starter and
hold on to the job because Ronald Jones cannot even hold onto a one yard per carry.
