WBA Welterweight Title Bout: Pacman is back with a TKO

by Russel Carilla

After nine years of dull career, Manny Pacquiao once again reminded the

world why they loved him with his seventh round stoppage and victory via

technical knockout in his match against Lucas Matthysse held in Kuala Lumpur,

Malaysia last July 15, 2018.

Before the match, Pacquiao was haunted by notions that he had lost his

beastly speed and power with his aging body and that he would not best the

4-years younger Argentine fighter Matthysse.

Pacquiao ruthlessly extinguished these notions by dismantling Matthysse

with his old flashy moves causing a total of 3 knockouts in rounds 3, 5, and 7.

At the final time of Round 7, Matthysse dropped after directly taking a

powerful left uppercut.

Barely recovering his balance, Matthysse spitted out his mouthpiece,

which hinted referee Kenny Bayless to officially end the fight and declare

Pacquiao’s victory.

With Pacquiao clinching his 60th victory and making a comeback via TKO,

millions of fans jumped off their feet and cheered to celebrate the return of

legendary Filipino fighter.
