My Role: Developed Public Space Carpet Program,

Design Development in Corridors, Support in
Public Space and Model Room Schematic Design,
FFE + Fabric/Material Selections, Construction
Administration + Purchasing Agent Liaison, 2D
Renderings and Presentation Materials.

Located at the heart of Portland‘s city center, this 300

room hotel is set to be a cultural hub championing the

resurgence of environmental activism.

Authentic PNW materials, artists and attitudes

create a space that is both welcoming and thought-

provoking.

PORTLAND MEETING ROOMS AND CORRIDORS | AXMINSTER CARPETS | BRANDED HOTEL

The narrative of this project focused on modern
environmental activism and the natural beauty of the
Pacific North West. One of my roles in this project
included developing the public space and guestroom
corridor carpet packages.
I worked as part of the initial concept design team to
create presentation materials for the client to approve.
Then, I developed the carpet patterns and floor plans,
and then worked with multiple manufacturers to bring
the package to fruition.

Model Room Fabrics and Materials

In this project, I was a part of the team

responsible for pulling fabric palettes,

preparing presentation materials and

colorboards, writing specifications,

sourcing FFE, and facilitating the finish

approval process between manufacturers

and purchasing agents.

Participate in initial concept design, assist with room

layout development, FFE selection, fabric and materials
package, specification writing, rendered elevations and
plan, presentation to client, purchasing agent coordination,
pillow and carpet development.

The upcoming renovation of this 300 room branded

hotel in Philadelphia aims to mix sleek European

minimalism with an urban grit. Rodin-inspired art

elements and luxury FFE are complimented by an

eclectic mix of classic colonial design and a modern

taste of the city.

MAY 2016

The Network of Executive Women in

Hospitality and Symmons joined together

to fund a faucet design competition. The

contest was open to undergraduate and

graduate design students. The finish must

be polished chrome.

My design was chosen as the 2016

Winner. I was honored in Las

Vegas at the hospitality expo in May.

When the handle is erect, there is no water running. When the handle is
moved to a 45 degree angle, there is cold water running. When the handle
is suppressed into the concave impression, the water is at its warmest point.

ORANGESPOTTING is a submission-

based Instagram account and zine

documenting experiences with orange.

Wassily Kandinsky describes the color

orange as “red brought nearer to

humanity by yellow”.

When I arrived in Seattle, the only things

that weren’t the color of mud were

the evergreen trees and scatterings

of orange; building membranes on

skyscrapers beguiled in drawn out

permit wars, construction gear, hoses,

syringe caps. Winter began and the

greying sky only made every orange

candy wrapper glow brightly on the

sidewalks. The traffic cones caught fire

among the colorless pavers.

Community Cues

A critical element of the project was

researching and identifying elements

of Carver that make it unique. The

community is built on porches- the

history of the city and the people who

live there is passed along through

storytelling. Using the vernacular

architecture of the neighborhood adds
