THEMES IN 

TITUS ANDRONICUS 
One of Shakespeare's goriest tragedies, Titus
Andronicus has several themes that are
consistent throughout the play 

Love
The theme of love appears in that
Tamora and Aaron fall in love and
also the love Titus has for his family
as well as Tamora for her kids.

Violence
The play has a total of 14 killings
and 1 rape. It is most apparent
when Lavina has hands chopped
off and tongue cut off after being
raped 

Revenge 
The main motive of every character
in the play is to gt revenge on the
other. It becomes a revenge game
beginning when Titus kills one of
Tamora's kids

Power
Throughout the play Titus' two sons battle
one another for the main seat on the
dynasty and for control. In addition there is
a power struggle between Tamora and
Titus
