System Requirements
Before installing OFM 2012.1, make sure your system meets these requirements.

Overview
Audience The OFM administrator or the end user can perform the tasks described in
this section.
Prerequisites Perform the following tasks before you install OFM 2012.1:
• Obtain an OFM 2012.1 product license from your Schlumberger account manager.
• Ensure that you have administrative privileges on the computer where you are
installing OFM.
• Ensure that the “System Requirements” on page 2-2 are met.
To Install OFM
1 Insert the OFM Installation CD in your computer, or navigate to the network
drive that contains the OFM installation files.
2 Start the installation:
a. Double-click the setup.exe file to begin the installation.

Caution: Do not double-click OFM 2012.msi.

b. If you wish to use the Schlumberger License Manager, select the Install
Schlumberger License Manager 2011.1 check box.

Note: If your organization uses FlexeraTM FlexNet Publisher®(or later) License
Manager to manage Flex licenses, then the Schlumberger License
Manager software is not required.
c. Click Next.

Note: If your organization uses the FlexNet 11.0 (or later) to manage Flex
licenses, then the Schlumberger License Manager software is not required.
In This Chapter
FlexNet Overview
FlexeraTM FlexNet Publisher® is the system Schlumberger uses to manage software
licensing. If your organization uses a FlexNet license server to manage software
licenses, contact your FlexNet administrator for assistance with adding the OFM
license to the established license server.
For organizations that do not have a FlexNet license server, Schlumberger provides
the Schlumberger License Manager software to manage Schlumberger-specific
licenses. After you install the Schlumberger License Manager, you can use it to
activate your OFM product license.
The following sections discuss the two supported licensing methods: Standalone and
server based.

Note: By default, the licensing server is installed on port 27000.
3 Click Apply.
4 Click Ok to start using the license.

To Remove OFM
1 Select Start > Programs > Schlumberger > OFM 2012 > Uninstall OFM
2012.1 on your Windows menu.
2 On the confirmation window, click Yes.
