Lesson A
In this lesson children reflect on past experiences, and wonder at times in their lives where
they have had to prepare and wait for a special time. This relates to Early Years Learning
Framework [EYLF] (DEEWR, 2009) Outcome 1 regarding children having a strong sense of
identity. In this lesson children are sharing ideas and engaging and in order for this to occur
strong, positive relationships must be formed with educators and peers so children have a
positive self-identity and sense of personhood.

Lesson B
In this lesson, the teacher preforms a Nativity story Godly Play which highlights the way in
which Mary and Joseph prepared for their baby to be born. Children are then required to
sequence the story and will then have the option to complete a story retell using iPads or
recreate a scene from the story using play dough. These activities involved the students
creating and constructing knowledge and addresses Outcome 4 as children are actively
involved in the learning process and are constructing new knowledge through hands-on
experiences (DEEWR, 2009).

Lesson C
In this lesson children are exploring the different ways they can show love to others and
living how God wants especially during the time of Advent. This relates to the EYLF
Outcome 3 regarding children having a strong sense of identity (DEEWR, 2009). This
outcome is achieved through the way children begin to understand they are a part of a group
and family as well as exploring the ways they can help others and show love and kind to
them during the Advent and Christmas period for example through the ‘good deed’ cards
created in the lesson.
