Amazing Animals
What is your favourite animal? If you could create a new animal what would it
be?
Your Task – It is your job to design a new animal. This animal can be completely
made up or based on another animal. You will need to design the animal that
will live in one of the habitats;
o Ocean
o Desert
o Antarctica
o Rainforest
You will research the chosen location, you will need to find out what sort of
animals live in that environment and what observable features the animal
might need to have to survive in the environment. For example, animals that
live in the ocean will need gills to breathe. You will need to think about the
obser vable features of the animal as well as where the animal might live and
how they have their needs met in the habitat they will live.

Sessions:
Session 1 – Choose your
habitat and use the QR codes to
research and learn more about
the location.
Session 2 – Research animals that live in the
habitat you have picked. Make sure you take a
closer look at the observable features of the
animal and what the animal needs to live in your
chosen environment

Session 3 and 4 – Using your new knowledge on the habitat your chose as well as
the animals that you have found which live in the environment, you will need to design an
animal that will live in your chosen habitat. Make sure you think of a name for your
animal. Make sure that you consider what observable features the animal might have
and include the features they might need to live in the chosen habitat.
Session 5 and 6 – You will be creating Session 7 and 8 – Using a shoe box
