According to the https://smartasset.

com/mortgage/what-will-my-commute-be, more commute time

makes more problems for people who did commute so it is important to minimise the commute
time. Using the US Demographic data, Why the states in America has different mean commute
time?

1. What state has the highest and the lowest mean commute time?

https://public.tableau.com/profile/m.agus.afrianto#!/vizhome/meancommute1/Sheet32?publish=yes
From this graphic, US has 52 states with the lowest mean commute(11.23 minutes) and the
highest mean commute (30.06 minutes) with range is 18.83. 50% states are below the 23.79
minutes time of commute and 50% are above the 23.79 minutes time of commute. We expected
the normal commute time is 23.33 minutes across US states. Alaska has the lowest mean
commute time and the other hand New Jersey has the highest mean commute time. It seems
people in Alaska don’t need to worry about their time lost in commute.

2. Why are they different? Does the majority people in Alaska commute alone in car, van, or truck
so it makes their commuting time so fast? and the other hand, Does The majority people in New
Jersey prefer to chose walk so it makes their commute time bigger?

In every states in US, people prefer to choose commuting alone in a car, van, or truck than the
other alternative. It should they has the similar commute time.

3. How about the outliers ?

https://public.tableau.com/profile/m.agus.afrianto#!/vizhome/boxplot_50/Sheet6?publish=yes
according that plots Alaska is the outlier. it so far away from the median and mean. There is
something that makes Alaska outliers.

4. Alaska is Huge why Alaska has the lowest commute time? because if we commute in a long
distance we need more time than in short distance

https://public.tableau.com/profile/m.agus.afrianto#!/vizhome/Book212_9/Dashboard3?publish=yes
according to the graph I see that Alaska has highest area but small population (5.5 million
population) relatively with its area. If we see The area of New Jersey is smaller but has 185 million
population. We see the population of New Jersey 33 times bigger than Alaska. So New Jersey is
more crowded than Alaska.

5. Why the commute time is different?

Dashboard12?publish=yes
If we see at the graph, we can see Alaska, California and New Jersey. Alaska has the largest area,
with the smallest population and smallest mean commute time. California has the most population
and has smaller area than Alaska but larger than New Jersey. The commute time in California is
higher than Alaska but Lower than New Jersey. New Jersey has the smallest area and has the
more population than Alaska but smaller than California and New Jersey has the largest mean
commute time. From that information, we see population and extent of area make the commute
time different from every state.
