5.3.2 How to Deal With the Prompt, Indicating that You Have
Installed this Version During the Installation?
Question
Why is the prompt such as "...has been installed! Please uninstall it at first." displayed during
the mediation installation.

Answer
If a mediation that you want to install has been installed or its version number is the same as
the value of NeVersion in the file <mediation version number>/etc/NeVersion.def, do not
install it again. If you must install, you need to uninstall the installed version first.

5.3.3 How to Deal With the Prompt, Indicating that Another

One Is Installing Match Version During the Installation?
Question
How to deal with the prompt
"... Another one is installing match version, please wait and try again later!" during the
installation?

Answer
During the mediation installation, upgrade, or uninstallation, nobody else is allowed to install,
upgrade, or uninstall other mediation. You can perform these operations until the user exits.

5.3.4 How to Deal With the Prompt, Indicating that You Need
To Expand The Result Table In pmdb database?
Question
How to deal with the prompt
we need to expand the result table in pmdb database for some special counters, it will take
10mins~30mins.
We strongly suggest that don't do any operation that related to performance measurement
before the expanding operation finished.

Answer
The M2000 server automatically expands the database for the counters. No manual operation
is required. When the M2000 server is expanding the database, you are not allowed to set
performance measurement and query performance results for the related NE. For details, see
section 4.3.4 "Why Do I Fail to Set Performance Measurement or Query Measurement
Results When the Database Is Being Expanded for Special Counters?" Generally, expanding
the database takes 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the result table size.

5.3.5 Why Do I Fail to Set Performance Measurement or Query

Measurement Results When the Database Is Being Expanded
for Special Counters?
Question
Why do I fail to set performance measurement or query measurement results when the
database is being expanded for special counters on the server?

Answer
Result tables in the database are used when you set performance measurement or query
measurement results during database expansion. However, the width of the columns
containing special counters in result tables changes. Therefore, operations such as setting
performance measurement and querying measurement results will fail during database
expansion. In addition, you cannot set performance measurement or query measurement
results for NEs of the same type corresponding to the mediation package because NEs of the
same type share result tables.

5.3.6 Installing the Mediation Fails. How to Restore the M2000

to the Normal Mode When It Is in the Restricted Mode?
Question
During the dynamic installation of the mediation, the client is in the restrictive mode. If any
exception occurs during the mediation installation or the mediation installation is manually
stopped, the M2000 remains in the restrictive mode. In this case, how to restore the M2000 to
the normal mode?

Answer
Perform the following steps to restore the M2000 to the normal mode:
Step 1 Log in to the M2000 server as user ossuser through SSH.
Step 2 Set environment variables.
$ . /opt/oss/server/svc_profile.sh

The command starts with ".", and a space exists between "." and "/".

Step 3 Run the following command to restore the M2000 to the normal mode:
$ svc_limitsystem off
Step 4 Restart the client.

5.3.7 How Do I Handle a Mediation Installation Package That

Does Not Have a Signature?
Question
Before mediation installation or upgrade, the M2000 checks whether the mediation
installation package has a signature. If the package does not have a signature, the M2000
displays a message, requesting the user to determine whether to continue.
security warning: Maybe the
iManagerM2000_BSC6900GSM_MATCH_ENG_V200R011C00SPC002.tar package does
not support signature, or signature file missed. Are you sure to continue? [y/n]

Answer
All the mediation installation packages for M2000 versions earlier than V200R011 do not
have a signature. Check whether the mediation installation package is for an M2000 version
earlier than V200R011. If the package is for an M2000 version earlier than V200R011, ignore
the message, and proceed with the installation. If the mediation is for M2000 V200R011, the
mediation installation package must have a signature. Check whether the package is obtained
from a legal source.

5.3.8 How Do I Handle the Signature Verification Failure of a

Mediation Installation Package?

5.4.1 How to Download the Mediation Files About NEs Where
New Mediation Version Is Installed?
Question
After the mediation version is installed, how to download the help information about the
corresponding NE version to the client?

Answer
If the NE version stored on the M2000 client is inconsistent with that stored on the M2000
server, you can manually download the NE mediation files to the M2000 client. This ensures
the NE version consistency on the M2000 client and server. The mediation files consist of
files such as online help files and the macro files of NEs. The macro file is a set containing all
commands defined by NEs. Through the macro file, you can know which commands are
supported in the NE version and what the parameters are.
Step 1 Restart the client software.
Step 2 Choose menu Help/Download NE Files.
Step 3 If a new NE version file exists, the Download NE Files dialog box is displayed and querying
whether download the new NE version help.

If no new version file exists, the progress query dialog box is closed directly.
