AN ocean search is underway for a family of four fishermen missing on a boat between

Cockburn and Rottnest Island.

A 50-year-old Coodanup man, his 24-year-old son, his brother and another 31-year-old
family member went out to Rottnest Island on a boat named “Yeah Buoy” on Wednesday
night.

One of the missing fishermen spoke to his fiancée about 10am on Thursday and told her
they were going around the back of Rottnest Island to fish.

Family members raised the alarm last night after they didn’t return home.

Police say no emergency calls have been received from those on-board.

Water Police, volunteer sea rescue groups, Rottnest Island rangers and police have
searched overnight for the men to no avail.

Three helicopters and a plane have joined nine vessels in the search this morning.

Police have urged anyone who anyone who has seen a white 5.5-metre vessel at
Rottnest Island yesterday to contact Water Police on 9442 8600.
