A TULIP PROOF TEXT DEBUNKED

Womb Prophecy in Jeremiah

Jer. 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I
sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Jer. 1:9, 10 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I
have put my words in thy mouth. See, I have this day [TIME] set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root
out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
It does not demand that these words that God gave to Jeremiah apply to Jeremiah. Still, whether God meant these
words for Jeremiah or the Messiah is arguable, but because due to the building, destroying, the tearing down, and being
set over kingdoms and other context and other passages, we conclude that they do not apply to Jeremiah but apply either
to Israel or Christ or both as God’s servants. But supposing that they were meant for Jeremiah alone:
1. It does not say before I have saved thee
2. It does not say before I have elected thee; Salvation and election are two different things.
3. It says before I KNEW thee
4. It says before I have FORMED thee.
5. It says before thou camest forth out of the WOMB.
The foreknowledge of God does not demand that God planned EVERYTHING just because God knows
everything or that would demand that God planned sin. Yet God did know everyone and everything in man’s future
domain (TIME) in God’s ever present present. When was the “before” God knew Jeremiah or whomever? Eternity? Did
not God know whomever in Eternity? Still, let us be generous and let Jeremiah or whoever be known of God in eternity.
Next, we are told that Jeremiah was formed in the belly. Surely, that was not in eternity but IN TIME, some time between
conception and growth to maturity in the womb. Next, we are told that before Jeremiah or whoever came forth out of the
womb, prophetic sanctification and ordination happened IN TIME some time during the subject’s womb residence. This
is similar to the comments in Romans, regarding Jacob and Esau, which TULIPS try to apply to salvation.
Womb Prophecy in Romans
Rom 9:9 – 13 For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. And not only
this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; (For the children being not yet born,
neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him
that calleth;) It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I
hated.
Of course, neither this passage nor the passages in Jeremiah have to do with salvation. The passage in Romans is
about family status and service. Still Rebecca had CONCEIVED IN TIME. And although the children were not born,
they were living in the WOMB -- IN TIME and God’s decree here was made IN TIME to Sarah. Of course, God, in His
foreknowledge, knew all about it in His ever present present and connected it to His loving the nation Jacob and His
hating the nation Esau per the Old Testament prophesies.
Womb Prophecy in Isaiah
Isa. 49:1 – 7 (1.) Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the
womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (2.) And he hath made my mouth like a sharp
sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me; (3.) And
said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified. (4.) Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have
spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the LORD, (5.) And now, saith the LORD that
formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be
glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength (6.) And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest
be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the
Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth. (7.) Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of
Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings
shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he
shall choose thee.
It does not take a Super theologian or a rocket scientist to figure out that both Israel and the Messiah are
mentioned in this passage. Jeremiah, Romans, and Isaiah all have a prophetic slant and have very similar womb language.
It is our contention that TULIPS have overstepped the bounds of scripture as they stretch and strain to prove that God
chose the elect to heaven in eternity. Eternity is God’s domain, and TIME is Man’s domain. TULIPS ought not play God
and enter His domain of eternity, where God sees everything in parallel at once, while we see things serially. This is where
TULIPS become confused in their philosophical sophistry.
