Hi, I’m Rafiul Islam. My topic for this presentation is Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin.

We all know

who he is. He was Born on April 16, 1889 and died on December 25, 1977. He was a great actor,

film producer, screenwriter, director, composer and of course a ballet dancer. City lights, the great

dictator, modern times are some his greatest creation. Today I’m going to talk about ‘the great

dictator’ movie. Chaplin made this movie to criticize Adolf Hitler and Mussolini and fascism. The

movie was released in 1940. That time 9 out of 10 American common people supported Hitler and

no one had the courage to go against Hitler. But Chaplin didn’t care how people would react. He

cared only about what is right and what is wrong. He had the courage to do the right thing at the

right moment. And that is why I follow him. There is a famous speech about humanity in this film.

Some say this speech was inspired from Mathma Gandhi.

Fun fact: This movie was banned in Germany by Hitler. But there are rumors that Adolf Hitler

himself watched this movie twice.

Thank you All!

Smile though your heart is aching.
