Guidelines for filling Online Application in respect of Advt. No. 99

(i) Only Indian Nationals can apply. The applications of other than Indian nationals will be rejected.

(ii) The fields marked with asterisk (*) are mandatory.

(iii) An applicant is required to enter the details of Indian Postal Order (IPO)for Rs 50/. The IPO/ DD may be sent
later as per guideline No. (viii) given below. As there is no fee for an applicant belonging to SC/ST/PH category, and
for female candidates this field is disabled for them.

(iv) All correspondence by RAC will be made at correspondence address of the candidate in India only.

(v) The candidate may select the University/Institute from the Dropdown Menu. In case an applicant enters University
other than the one listed in the Dropdown Menu, the application will be provisionally accepted and its recognition
status will be verified subsequently.

(vi) An applicant not securing First Class in Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology or First Class
Master’s Degree in Science will not be permitted to submit the application. Where Division/Class is not awarded
by University/Institute, a minimum of 60% marks will be taken as First Class/Division.

Where an applicant is awarded Grades, the same may be converted as per conversion formula specified by the
university. The applicant will be required to submit the proof of the conversion formula if called for the
interview by RAC.

In the absence of any conversion formula of Grades into percentage adopted by the respective
University/Institute, the applicant may leave the %age field blank. In this case 6.75 on 10 point scale as equivalent to
First Division/Class will be considered to determine the Class/Division.

(vii) Where age of an applicant exceeds the age prescribed for the post as on the last date of submission of application,
the application will be rejected. The upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years for physically handicapped persons in
areas other than Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical Engg. and relaxation of 5 years for Central Govt. employees as per
rules. Age is also relexable for Armed Forces personnel/ex-serviceman as per rules in vogue. Where age of an applicant
belonging to PH category/Govt. employee exceeds the prescribed age +5 years as on the last date of submission of
application, the application will be rejected.

(viii) On successful submission, the applicant is given a Registration Number and Acknowledgement Slip. The
applicant may print the acknowledgement slip for future reference. In case applicant is not able to print the
acknowledgement slip, registration number may be noted. The applicant is required to send a Crossed Non-Refundable
Indian Postal Order of the value of Rs. 50/- (not applicable for SC/ST/PH/Female candidates) drawn in favour of
Director RAC payable at Delhi to Director, Recruitment and Assessment Centre, Lucknow Road, Timarpur, Delhi-
110054, alongwith copies of experience certificate preferably by registered post, superscribed Application for the post of
Scientist ‘___’, Advt. No. 99 (Item No. ____) so as to reach RAC within 7 days of the closing date.
(ix) The applicant must write the Name and Registration Number on the Postal Order.

(x) The relaxation in age to PH category candidates is applicable in the areas other than Electrical/Electronic
Engg, and Mechanical Engg.

(xi) A candidate can apply for 2 or more than 2 vacancies under different items.A different registration number for
ach item will be issued to him/her.A separate postal order for each item in respect of UR category and OBC
candidates(except women candidates) is to be forwarded by the candidate.
