Dear Kelsey,

Congratulations! We are pleased to offer you the Noyce Scholarship for the 2018-19 academic year. This
scholarship, funded by the National Science Foundation, was established to acknowledge and support
academically high achieving students who commit to teaching mathematics in high need secondary
schools.

This scholarship is a forgivable loan for an amount up to $19000 (that is, up to the cost of attendance). It
is renewable for one additional year provided you enroll in and attend Noyce seminars each year and
maintain satisfactory progress in dual majors: Mathematics and Secondary Education/Mathematics option.
Also, for each year of the Noyce Scholarship, you must commit to teaching secondary mathematics for two
years in a high-need school district or the scholarship reverts to a loan. This commitment must be fulfilled
within eight years after graduation from the program.

In order to accept this scholarship, you must notify Dr. Gina Foletta (gmf17@psu.edu) and complete the
documents on the ECSI website, which is currently being set up. Once the website is operational, you will
be emailed an invitation (complete with instructions) to sign your documents. The documents you will
access through the ECSI website are your eSignature promissory note and Regulation Z disclosure. Please
also make sure you have completed the 2018-2019 FAFSA paperwork.

Again, congratulations on an outstanding academic record. Best wishes for continued success.

Sincerely,

M. Kathleen Heid
