1. Welcome

TeleNav™ 5.1 uses the integration of GPS position determination technology, the Java™ programming environment, and access
to your wireless operator’s data network. Windows Mobile devices provide the Java environment, access to the wireless network,
and typically include a GPS receiver.

The TeleNav application provides:

• GPS navigation that punctually guides you turn-by-turn to any destination address in the United Kingdom and
Europe. If you miss a turn or get off-track, TeleNav calculates a new route. You enter destination addresses directly
into the Windows Mobile device. Optionally, you can input a remote origin and receive Driving Directions from that
origin address to the selected destination address.

• Audio and visual traffic incident and safety camera alerts while driving or viewing maps, as well as traffic rerouting
capabilities to minimize delays on your trip.

• A Directory feature that allows you to find businesses or points of interest near your current location, around a
favourite, an entered address, or an airport. You can call the business first to check availability of an item or get a
reservation and then navigate to it. You can also save the address for use later in the day.

• Maps of the area around your current location, a marked Favourite, or an address you enter manually or have
previously entered. You can pan the map (adjust left/right/up/down), and zoom in or out. You can also mark a point
under the cursor as a Favourite.

• The ability to mark the current location as a Favourite that can be labelled.

• A compass-like indicator presenting your direction of travel, location, and speed.

• The ability to personalize the application by selecting the use of Imperial (miles/feet) or metric distance units, the
language for audible guidance, the volume and backlight level, the timing of displayed turn icons, etc.

2. Safety and Legal Notices

Please read this section carefully before using TeleNav GPS Navigator

TeleNav will not accept any responsibility whatsoever for accidents resulting from failure to observe common sense precautions.
Your personal judgment, traffic regulations, and common sense must always take precedence over any driving direction
produced by TeleNav.

WARNING: Keep your eyes on the road.

It is your responsibility as the vehicle operator to keep your eyes on the road and be an alert driver at all times, ESPECIALLY
when the vehicle is moving. The vehicle operator should not be distracted by the application displays, audible cues, or manually
interacting with the controls. When you need to enter data on your device using the keypad or study the display, please do so
while the vehicle is parked, not while in motion. Should your ability to drive responsibly be decreased, please turn off the device.

WARNING: Install the equipment safely.

If you are using a device mounting kit, make sure that it does not obscure your vision, or lie in the path of a supplemental restraint
system (airbag) deployment. You may wish to charge the device while using TeleNav. If so, make sure the charging cable does
not interfere with any of the vehicle controls.

WARNING: Drive safely and use common sense.

The vehicle operator’s personal judgment, traffic regulations, and common sense must always take precedence over the
instructions provided by TeleNav.

It is your responsibility as the vehicle operator to drive safely, observe all traffic rules, and above all use your own personal
judgment while driving. If you feel that a route suggested by the navigation software instructs you to perform an unsafe or illegal
manoeuvre, places you in an unsafe situation, or routes you into an area which you consider unsafe, do not follow the
instructions.

3. Data Service Options

The TeleNav GPS Navigator application that you install on your phone requires a means of accessing the public Internet
provided by your wireless operator’s data network.

The TeleNav GPS Navigator application on your phone communicates with the TeleNav servers to get routing, maps, and points
of interest via your wireless operator’s data network. You do not need to purchase additional data services if you already have a
data or email services plan for your phone. However, if you do not already have a data or email services plan, you must order
one from your wireless operator so you can use the TeleNav GPS Navigator application.

4. Device Controls

The graphic to the right shows the control buttons

and touch screen for the HTC Touch Dual device.
Other Windows Mobile devices may vary.

You can navigate through the TeleNav GPS

Navigator application in a variety of ways. Use the
4-way navigator to scroll through menu items and
press once to tap an item. You can also use the
stylus pen to make your selections. To go back to Touch
the previous menu, tap Back. screen

Business
TeleNav GPS Navigator offers a full European business directory. Search by popular
categories, or access an extensive directory.

In the directory, you can find the addresses and phone numbers of businesses such as
restaurants, motels, petrol stations, churches, schools, government offices, and police and
fire stations.

Once you find what you are looking for, you can get audible and visual driving or walking
directions, place a call, view a map, or save it to your Favourites list. The Directory search
result is automatically saved to your Recent Places list.

In the Search screen, choose a category to begin your search. See the Directory Menu
section on page 33 for more details on this feature.

Address - Typing In
Enter a street address by typing in the appropriate fields. The address is automatically
saved to your Recent Places list.

1. Type in a street address. You can also leave the Street Address field blank and type in
a city to perform a city search.

HINT: If you type in a partial city or street name, the application will suggest a list of similar
names. For example, type in "granvil" and TeleNav will suggest "Granville Road."

2. Tap the Done button.

NOTE: To quickly clear fields, choose Menu >> Clear All on the Address screen.

3. The "Going To" screen appears. To skip the countdown, tap Go.

© TELENAV, INC. 2003-2008 PAGE 20 OF 46

4. TeleNav GPS Navigator checks to see if the address that you entered can be found.
TeleNav GPS Navigator prompts you to modify the address if the address is too new
to be found in the mapping database or if the street number cannot be found for some
other reason, for example, if the street number does not exist. The navigation screen
then appears.

NOTE: You can change your Navigation Options while in navigation mode. See page 25
for further details.

Intersection
Enter an intersection by typing in the appropriate fields. You can get directions, view a map of
the intersection, or save the intersection to your Favourites list. The intersection is
automatically saved to your Recent Places list.

1. Type in an intersection.

2. Tap the Done button.

NOTE: To quickly clear fields, choose Menu >> Clear All on the Intersection screen.

3. The "Going To" screen appears. To skip the countdown, tap Go.

© TELENAV, INC. 2003-2008 PAGE 21 OF 46

4. TeleNav GPS Navigator checks to see if the intersection that you entered can be
found. TeleNav GPS Navigator prompts you to modify the name of the intersection if
one of the streets does not exist, if the streets do not cross, or if the address is too new
to be found in the mapping database. The navigation screen then appears.

NOTE: You can change your Navigation Options while in navigation mode. See page for
25 further details.

Airport
Quickly find airports by Airport Code or City Name. You can get driving directions to an
airport, view a map and traffic information, or save the airport information to your Favourites
list. The airport is automatically saved to your Recent places list.

1. Type the three-letter abbreviation of the airport, or type the whole name of the airport. If
a drop-down list appears with the name of the airport, you may be able to save time
and keystrokes by using the 4-way navigator to highlight the name of the desired
airport and then pressing the centre of the 4-way navigator to select the airport.

2. Tap the Done button. You will be taken to the "Going To" screen. To quickly clear the
field, choose Menu >> Clear All.

Trip Confirmation Options (Initial Driving Directions)

After you tap a Drive To location, the Trip Confirmation screen appears, and a countdown
begins before your route is generated. To skip the countdown, tap Go. Optionally, tap Menu
for a list of additional options.

© TELENAV, INC. 2003-2008 PAGE 22 OF 46

Change Route Style

You can modify the Route Style for your trip by selecting one of the following options:

• Fastest - This default Route Style finds the fastest driving route.

• Shortest - This Route Style may or may not take more time to drive, but it shows
you the shortest distance.

• Traffic Optimized - Find the fastest route that minimizes current traffic delays.

• Prefer Streets - Use streets instead of highways if possible.

• Prefer Highway - Use highways instead of streets if possible.

• Pedestrian - Find walking directions.

NOTE: The “Pedestrian” route style may make your walking route easier, for example by
allowing you to take advantage of going the wrong way down one way streets. As always,
use your common sense to determine the safety of any route.

Change Origin

TeleNav GPS Navigator assumes that you want to start from your current location, but you
can tap “Change Origin” from the Trip Confirmation menu to start navigation from a different
location that you choose. The options on the Drive From screen are almost identical to those
on the Drive To screen for navigation.

Save Destination

Save the destination to your Favourites list by assigning it a label and choosing Save.

© TELENAV, INC. 2003-2008 PAGE 23 OF 46

Initial Driving Directions

Within a few seconds of selecting a Drive To location, TeleNav GPS Navigator calculates
what it believes to be an optimal route to your destination and tells you how to start your trip.

If you are not moving, TeleNav GPS Navigator may not know your direction of travel, so the
first few driving directions may be incorrect since TeleNav GPS Navigator may initially make
an incorrect assumption. However, once you start moving, TeleNav GPS Navigator learns
your direction of travel and provides an updated set of driving directions.

For more information about navigation views, see page 25.

GPS Origin Refinement

If you are using GPS navigation and you are in a parking lot or similar area where your location does not exactly map to a specific
street, you may see a page that shows TeleNav GPS Navigator’s best estimate of which street you are on. This gives you the
opportunity to change the starting street.

If you elect to change the starting street, a list of neighbouring streets appears, and you can make an alternate selection from the
list. If you do nothing, the page disappears after a few seconds, and TeleNav GPS Navigator uses the default street as the
starting location.

If you are not sure which street you are on, simply start driving. TeleNav GPS Navigator detects your current location and
recalculates your driving directions as needed.

Audible Guidance Tones

The TeleNav GPS Navigator application delivers spoken audible directions. A preparatory audible tone is typically heard no less
than 30 seconds before reaching a turn, and an action audible tone is typically heard no less than 10 seconds before reaching a
turn. The preparatory audible tone may not be sounded if the distance to the next turn only allows time for the action tone.

The lead times for the audible guidance tones are increased proportionally to your driving speed. For example, this allows more
time for changing lanes before a turn if you are driving at highway speeds as opposed to driving more slowly on local streets.

© TELENAV, INC. 2003-2008 PAGE 24 OF 46

Miss a Turn?

Whenever you miss a turn, turn the wrong way, turn too early or too late, or otherwise get off the planned route to your
destination, TeleNav GPS Navigator automatically creates a new route to your desired destination and an audible tone
announces that a new set of instructions is available.

If you realize you have missed a turn or have otherwise deviated from the route, just keeping driving. TeleNav GPS Navigator
detects your current location and recalculates a new set of driving directions to get you back on track.

It may take approximately 15 to 30 seconds for TeleNav GPS Navigator to update your route. If during this process you make
additional deviations from your current route, TeleNav GPS Navigator may have to contact its servers for another new route.

Since TeleNav GPS Navigator requires access to your carrier’s network, if you are off route and outside of the carrier’s coverage
area, you must return to your carrier’s coverage area in order for TeleNav GPS Navigator to recalculate your route.

Navigation Views

The default navigation view is a 3D moving map, but you may wish to use another option
when you are navigating. Of course, pull over and stop your vehicle in a safe place before
changing navigation views. You may also wish to plan your trip before you start by looking at
other navigation views.

To access other navigation views, choose Options during a navigation session.

The Navigation Options menu appears. Tap from the available options, as discussed below.

Moving Map

A 3-dimensional map with turn icons (this is the default view).

You can zoom in and out of this map by tapping the “+” and “-” icons, respectively. You can
also press the keys "Q" to zoom in and "P" to zoom out. You can pan the map by using the
4-way navigator.

This view allows you to see how the road ahead is organized, similar to the perspective of a
bird flying 15 metres above the route. The name of the street you are currently on is
displayed at the bottom of the screen.

When you are viewing a moving map during navigation, a Traffic Alert icon will appear at the
bottom-right corner of the map if there is a traffic incident less than 15 miles ahead of your
current route and the “Traffic Alerts” preference is turned on. You will see the distance along
the route until the accident and hear an audio warning.

12. Suspending TeleNav GPS Navigator

Making a Phone Call from TeleNav GPS Navigator

You can call a location that you have found in the Directory such as a restaurant or a hotel. Tap the Call It option for businesses
you found in the Directory.

To suspend TeleNav to make a call, simply press the End key. Once you are finished with the call, go to Start >> TeleNav to
resume the application.

Taking an Incoming Call

When you are using the TeleNav GPS Navigator and your phone receives an incoming call, your phone rings and displays a
screen that gives you the option to Answer the call or Ignore the call.

If you ignore the call, the TeleNav GPS application resumes and continues with the function that you were using before the call
came in.

If you answer the call, TeleNav will be operating but “suspended.” After the call, press the End key to end the call. At this point,
TeleNav should resume from its suspended state. If you are navigating and have gotten off the route, TeleNav will sound a
deviation jingle and obtain a new route for you.

NOTE: When TeleNav briefly uses the data network, incoming calls may be blocked. When you are on an incoming call, TeleNav
is still running and will periodically collect a GPS fix from the internal GPS receiver. When this fix is taken, there may be a very
brief loss of intelligibility on the received audio from the caller.

Interruption of Other Services
Whenever the TeleNav GPS Navigator application needs to contact its servers (such as when generating a route), it uses your
wireless operator’s data service. When the TeleNav GPS Navigator application uses your wireless operator’s data service, other
services such as SMS messaging and conventional cellular calls are not available. Typically, this interruption of other services
lasts no more than 20 seconds.

When incoming calls are blocked due to TeleNav GPS Navigator’s use of your wireless operator’s data network, phone calls go
to your voice mail if you have a voice mail service available.

GPS signal weak or No GPS data

Move to an area where your device has a clearer view of the sky and can still connect with your device. Please note that some
car windshields that have heat-reflective coatings may reduce the quality of the GPS signal.

Low Battery

TeleNav will advise you when it detects a low battery charge condition. The GPS will not work if the device’s battery charge level
is below about 15%. If you get a low battery warning, connect a charging cable as soon as possible. In some cases, you may
need to wait a while for the battery to become sufficiently charged so that the GPS receiver will work.

Network Signal Weak

If the wireless network signal is weak then move to an area where signal-reception is better. Try the function that requires
network access again.

© TELENAV, INC. 2003-2008 PAGE 43 OF 46

TeleNav GPS Navigator encountered an error

TeleNav GPS Navigator is having technical problems with the specific request that you made. This can be due to an address that
it cannot find, or mapping data that does not allow routing from where you are to where you want to go. In this case, try to use a
nearby address.

TeleNav GPS Navigator not available

If you get an advisory message that TeleNav GPS Navigator is not available, exit the TeleNav GPS Navigator application and
then re-launch it. If the problem recurs, it may be due to a temporary TeleNav GPS Navigator server outage.

Unable to generate a route

TeleNav GPS Navigator could not generate a route between the two endpoints of the route. This may be a temporary error if you
have a weak GPS signal when establishing the origin, but may be due to errors in the map data in the area around the
destination.

Unable to reach TeleNav server

You may see this message for several different reasons: a) your data plan is not active, b) you are outside of coverage, c) the
data network is currently experiencing difficulties, or d) the TeleNav server is not acknowledging your phone’s attempt to
communicate.
You should call your wireless operator customer support for the first three issues and TeleNav Customer Support at
+442075195052 to see if it is the last one.

17. FAQs

Why do I need the carrier’s data service?

The data plan allows you to access nationwide routes, maps, and Directory content from the TeleNav GPS Navigator servers
using the data communication features of your phone. These services are different from your cellular airtime. To order a data
plan from your carrier, please contact your carrier directly.

Does TeleNav GPS Navigator use up my voice plan minutes?

TeleNav GPS Navigator uses data to provide its navigation functions. Using data does not use any of your voice minutes.
However, calling the Voice Address Input System does use about 75 seconds per address entered. The Voice Call feature
internal to the TeleNav GPS Navigator application also uses voice minutes.

How accurate is the GPS?

GPS accuracy can range from 20m (approx. 65 ft) to 100m (approx. 328 ft). Most of the time, the GPS is accurate to less than 50
metres (approx. 164 ft).

What is ideal GPS environment?

The GPS requires an open, clear view of the sky. Buildings, covered parking areas, tunnels, and dense foliage can cause the
GPS receiver within the device to be unable to locate a GPS satellite or may cause extended initialization time (time to first GPS
fix).

If you are parked in a covered parking lot or near a tall building, it is recommended that you move into an open area and then
begin to use the TeleNav GPS Navigator service.

© TELENAV, INC. 2003-2008 PAGE 44 OF 46

Why does the GPS not work near buildings and other tall objects?

The GPS uses signals from satellites so it needs a clear view of the sky. Tall buildings and other objects that block the GPS
receiver’s view to the sky may make it impossible to determine your location. Sometimes the satellites are not overhead but near
the horizon; in these cases, the device must have a clear view of the horizon.

How do I know that the GPS has a signal?

The TeleNav GPS Navigator application on your phone alerts you if you do not have a valid GPS signal. If this happens, move to
an area where there is a clear view of the sky so the GPS satellite signal has access to the device.

What happens if I’m using TeleNav GPS Navigator for driving directions and I lose the GPS signal while driving across
a bridge or through a tunnel or lose the GPS signal for some other reason?

TeleNav GPS Navigator remembers the speed at which you were driving before losing the GPS signal. TeleNav GPS Navigator
continues to give you driving directions based on an estimate of the projected distance that you may have travelled at your last
recorded rate of speed. TeleNav GPS Navigator recalculates your current position when you regain a GPS signal and adjusts
your driving directions accordingly.
