ƒ Promote landscaping and
beautification programmes.
ƒ Intensify the programmes of
roadside and streetside planting and
landscaping.
ƒ Ensure the provision of proper
landscaping of existing private open
spaces and other vacant areas.

ƒ Ensure the landscaping of rivers and the


rehabilitation of ex-mining lands.
ƒ Initiate an appropriate strategy for integrating the

Steep Slopes :
ƒ not permit development on hillside with slope that
exceeds the allowable level, rules and regulations
set by the Federal Government

ƒ Ensure that geo-technical study is carried out for


all hillside developments.

2. PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
Air Water Quality :
ƒ in co-operation with the sewerage concessionaire,
ensure that there shall be no further discharge of
untreated domestic wastewater into the rivers and
drainage system.

ƒ investigate the feasibility of new approaches to


increase oxygenation, aeration and water quality of
the City’s rivers to support aquatic life in rivers.

ƒ re-activate the rehabilitation programme
ƒ not approve development involving permanent
structures in river reserves.
