Eva Wolfe Elementary School’s Title I Parent and Family Engagement Plan for 2018-2019

The stakeholders at Eva Wolfe Elementary School believe that parent involvement is a vital
component in the education process and that parent involvement and support translate into
increased student achievement. Parents are valued at Wolfe ES, and therefore, the following
Parent Family Engagement Policy will be implemented.

 This policy has been jointly developed and agreed upon by the Eva Wolfe Elementary
School and parents of students served in the school pursuant to Title I. Eva Wolfe
Elementary School will convene an annual meeting at a convenient time for parents to
evaluate this policy. These meetings were held on September 6, 2018 and September 7,
2018. The school’s Parent and Family Engagement Policy developed by parents and
educators, will be distributed in an understandable and uniform format and to the extent
practicable, in a language parents can understand. The Parent and Family Engagement
and the Title I PowerPoint will also be made available to the community through the
school’s website. Eva Wolfe Elementary School will involve parents in SOT and PTA
monthly meetings in an organized ongoing, and timely way in the planning, review and
improvement of Title I programs, School Performance Plan, and Parent and Family
Engagement Policy.

 Eva Wolfe Elementary School had 40 parents participate in the District-Wide Parent
Survey. In another parent survey completed by outside educational consultants retained
by the Nevada Department of Education, over 200 parent responses were collected.
Overall, the results of both the 2017-2018 District-Wide Survey and the one completed
by the outside consulting firm indicated the parents were satisfied with the school
environment including the safety, physical building, and staff at Eva Wolfe Elementary
School. Results were utilized to identify strengths and areas in need of improvement.
The staff plans to increase communication and participation by advertising events
through ClassDojo, flyers, the school marquee, and the school website as well as
promoting subsequent parent events during parent meetings.

 Districtwide survey results were shared with parents on May 17, 2018, put on the school
website, and reviewed at the PTA meeting on September 5, 2018. Based on the survey
data, Eva Wolfe Elementary will focus on communicating with parents about resources
available at the school to assist struggling students. This information will be shared at
parent/teacher conferences and during parent trainings. There will also be links on the
school website.

 The Educational Involvement Accords are included within the registration process
through Infinite Campus. Parents must review Accords prior to completing their child’s
registration. Administrators and teachers will have access to the Accords whenever
needed for parent/student conferences or other occasions.
 The administration and staff at Eva Wolfe Elementary School will:

A. Provide assistance to parents, as appropriate, in understanding such topics as the

Nevada Academic Content Standards, state and local assessments, the requirements
of Title I, how to monitor their student’s academic progress, and how to work with
the school staff to improve the achievement of the students through parent meetings,
academic nights, and monthly SOT and PTA meetings during the school year.
