METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART
The Metropolitan Museum of
Art, as known as "the MET”, was
founded in 1870 for the purpos-
es of opening a museum to
bring art and art education to
the American people (It is the
largest art museum in the Unit-
ed States and is currently locat-
ed on 1000 fifth avenue, New
York, NY 10028.
A huge number of different
kinds of artworks could be
found in the MET. It has seven-
teen curatorial departments and
a total of over two million
works.

STATUE OF LIBERTY
"The Statue of Liberty Enlighten-
ing the World" was a gift of
friendship from the people of
France to the United States and
is recognized as a universal
symbol of freedom and democ-
racy. The Statue of Liberty was
dedicated on October 28,
1886. It was designated as a
National Monument in
1924. Employees of the Nation-
al Park Service have been car-
ing for the colossal copper stat-
ue since 1933.
EMPIRE STATE BUILDING
The Empire State Building is a
skyscraper in New York City,
United States. It is 381 meters
(1,250 feet) tall and has 102
floors, and the height to its pin-
nacle is 1,454 feet. Named after
the popular nickname for New
York, The Empire State, it is one
of the most famous landmarks in
the US. Designed by the archi-
tects named Shreve, Lamb &
Harmon Associates, it was built
at a time when many people
were trying to make the world's
tallest building, but the Empire
State Building won.
TIMES SQUARE
Times Square is a major com-
mercial intersection, tourist
destination, entertainment cen-
ter and neighborhood in the
Midtown Manhattan section of
New York City at the junction of
Broadway and Seventh Avenue.
It stretches from West 42nd to
West 47th Streets A large num-
ber of neon signs and LED com-
mercial billboards all over the
intersection is an icon of Times
Square! It is a place every tour-
ist will go when they visit NYC.
If you want to take a good pic-
ture of Times Square, there are
red bleachers that give visitors
a picture perfect angle of the
square.
