From Debbie
Hi everyone,
Term four has got off to a great start. Aces got away yesterday on
camp and in conversation with Sandy this morning things are go-
ing well. I intend to visit them this afternoon to see them take
on the challenge of the high ropes. The focus of camp this year is
on safety in the NZ outdoors, the children will be learning how to
build bivouacs, and camp fires, cross rivers safely and will spend
a night tenting and cooking a meal on the camp fire.

AG DAY
Anna is back from the USA and has had a great time with her family. She has also come back
with some fresh ideas for our Ag day activities, which we hope you will have some fun with this
year. Rongotea School:Poudly Rural is our school motto and we really want to make this a
day of celebration of all things rural. This year as part of our afternoon programme we will be
running a scarecrow building competition and we would like parents to enter some teams and be
part of the competition. Teams can be made up of 4-6 adults. We are asking each adult team to
provide their own clothes, accessories and sticks for arms and legs. We will provide the straw.
We will be asking the children to bring items for their scarecrow building teams as well. In-
cluded in this newsletter are the activities the children can choose from for their Ag Day exhib-
its. Due to popular
demand we will run the family cake auction again this year.

SPORT/ACTIVITY AFTERNOON
This coming Tuesday we will be running a sports afternoon for the children. Teachers will be at a
meeting on-site during this time so we are looking for some parents who can give Catherine
Maxwell and Heather Toland a hand on the day. Can you please let Tania know by the end of the
week if you will be available.

Debbie Away
I will be away over the next few days on family business and will be back in the school this com-
ing Tuesday.
