An American Football Scout checks the results of the recent draft combine, focusing on the

speeds of that combine’s Tight Ends in the 40 yard dash, he also noted the weight of the
players. Here is what he found:
Rodriguez, A(225 lbs) ran it in 5.22 seconds, Smith, J.(195 lbs) ran the test in 4.65 seconds,
Jackson, G.(203 lbs) finished the test in 4.96 seconds, Carters, D.(180) did it in 4.41 seconds
Martin, F.(211 lbs) completed it 5.08 seconds. What can the Scout conclude from the results?
Answer: All of the heavier players with weights above 200(Rodriguez, Jackson, and Martin) all
completed in slower times compared to the lighter players(Carters, and Smith) who weighed in
180 and 195 lbs respectively. Therefore the Scout can conclude that the players’ speeds
depend on their weight.

The victory of an athlete depends on how much training he/she does.

An athlete will never succeed in his/her chosen sport if he/she does not put in the time, effort, and
determination into improving him/herself in the abilities he/she excels and lacks in. So we can
conclude, that the more an athlete trains, the higher that athlete’s chance will be in achieving
victory.
