The pareto on / off traffic generator invents traffic according to a pareto ON/OFF distributions.
Packets are provided at a fixed rate during ON periods and packets are not provided during off
periods. For a pareto distribution with uniform size pareto distribution with uniform size
packets , both off and on periods are considered. The idle time depends on the pareto
parameters \gamma=1.1 and w=0_36. The research in this study involved 40 source nodes , 90
destination nodes and 3 middle nodes as found in fig 2. 90 TCP connections connected the
sources and destinations , and the given time was 1 hour with 5 minutes interval.

This model is taken into account to control the FD of our 5 features in the network. Equation 7
has been used to calculated the threshold for PARETO model as 5.07 which is the average of its
sampled data. If the FD value goes beyond the provided threshold level at any interval, it will be
detected as attacker.

It has also be proved that this model lacks efficiency when compared to the flowspec model ,
because this model fails to control the flow of packets for a long time as indicated if the data
flow is high and the time to control is high.
