SHAH ALAM: XPDC111116 Program Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM): The 60 Summit of Mount in conjunction with the 60th
anniversary of UiTM today received the recognition of The Malaysia Book Of Records.

UiTM vice-chancellor, Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Hassan Said, said with the recognition, it showed UiTM residents especially their
students to achieve all the goals they dreamed, as well as to prove UiTM 'can' in all respects.

"This is not a new thing because in 2011, we have also gained recognition as today after capturing 30 mountain peaks. In fact, our
11 students have captured Mt. Everest.

"So it's not hard for us to do anything. What matters besides collaboration is the mental, physical and disciplined preparation of the
participants," he told a media conference after receiving the certificate of recognition here, today.

A total of 1,500 students and staff participated in simultaneous programs nationwide including Sabah and Sarawak.

The activity was organized by UiTM Student Affairs Division, in addition to full police cooperation, the Fire and Rescue Department,
the Forestry Department of Peninsular Malaysia, the Civil Defense Force (APM) and the Malim Society of Mount Malaysia.

Meanwhile, The Malaysia Book Of Records, Nurasyikin Ramli, said the second recognition was given after UiTM was able to
surpass the target set.

"After successfully capturing 30 mountains (previously), we are targeting them to climb about 36 mountains if they want to be listed
in the Malaysia Book Of Record, but they are able to handle it more than the fixed amount," he said.
