First of all we would like to thank Almighty Allah who gave us strengths to
complete this report with our full skills in the given period of time.

Secondly, we would like to appreciate all the people who filled the questionnaire,
gave us time and provided us with the information we needed to complete this task.

Then we appreciate Ms. Farah Asim who taught us Business Research with her full
efforts which gave us strengths and knowledge to complete this report. Her way of
teaching and giving lots of practical examples of real world made us achieve the
task.

Last but not the least; we would like to thank everyone in the group, without
everyone’s effort this report would not have been compiled properly and
efficiently.

It was a memorable experience of working on this report as it taught us a lot how

to conduct research on organizational level.

ABSTRACT

This report is based on our observation of the trends of using frozen foods as
compare with fresh foods. Relevant variables were identified through literature
survey and informal interviews. Variables of primary interest are the extent that the
frozen food has taken the place of fresh foods in its usage. Then some variables are
identified to find out the usage and impact of frozen food over fresh food.

Data was collected through questionnaire which consisted of 17 questions the

sample size was 150 respondents. Study was conducted in non-contrived
environment with minimum interference in the study.

On the basis of data analysis we have arrived at conclusion 123 respondents out of
150 are using frozen food and other 27 respondents are using fresh food.

OBSERVATION

We have observed that now days the trend of using frozen foods is increasing day
by day. Behind it many reasons or factors are hidden like time factors, easiness in
cooking etc. The promoters of frozen foods also try to show that frozen foods are
equal in comparison with fresh foods. In fact frozen foods are more convenient
than fresh foods. Basically they focus on time factor because now a day’s people
don’t have much time to cook. Now the usage of frozen foods is not only withheld
with upper class only but also got influenced by it.
LITERATURE SURVEY
PROBLEM STATEMENT
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

The main aim of this research is to high light the factors that influence the
increasing trend of using frozen foods in comparison with fresh foods and that
could be many like time easy availability, easiness in cooking frozen foods.

After collecting the data and required information through literature surveys and
interviews. We are now in a position to develop a conceptual model or theoretical
framework for our research. Variables also identified for this purpose we have
identified one dependent, one independent, three moderating and two intervening.
IDENTIFICATION OF THE
VARIABLES

DEPENDENT VARIABLE:
The dependent variable identified is

 The decrease in consumption of Fresh Foods.

INDEPENDENT VARIABLE:
The independent variable is identified as

 The increasing trends of Frozen Foods.

MODERATING VARIABLE:
 Availablity
 Awarness
 Shortage of time

INTERVENING VARIABLES:

 Ease and Convenience

RELATIONSHIPS OF VARIABLES

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE INDEPENDENT

VARIABLE AND DEPENDENT VARIABLE

Frozen foods are the independent variable because they directly influence the
extent to which people decrease the consumption of Fresh Foods. As it portray
that the usage of frozen foods is increasing day by day which influence the
usage of fresh foods. People prefer to use frozen Foods as compare with fresh
foods due to many reasons.

MODERATING VARIABLE

Moderating variables are identified Availability, Shortage of time and Awareness

because these factors affect the consumption of frozen foods. Now a days people
don’t have much time to spend on cooking therefore they prefer to have a quick
meal which is easily available to them.

INTERVENING VARIABLE

Ease and convenience has been found as the intervening variable because today
busy life don’t give such time to prepare heavy and time consuming meals
therefore frozen foods give ease to people for preparing of food. With the
convenience of Frozen foods people don’t need to put many efforts.

HYPOTHESIS

GENERATION OF HYPOTHESIS

The important variables have been found out through literature survey and
interviews and the relationship between variables also have been developed in
theoretical framework. Now we are moving towards the generation of hypothesis,
in which we will test our relationships between variables.

Ho: The trend of frozen foods is decreasing the consumption of fresh foods.
H1: The trend of frozen foods is not decreasing the consumption of fresh foods.
RESEARCH DESIGN

PURPOSE OF THE STUDY

The study that will be undertaken to test the hypothesis is of descriptive type
because we want to explain the nature of certain relationship like the influence of
frozen foods over the usage of fresh foods. We distributed Questionnaires and also
conducted informal interview to find out that people use frozen foods much in
today’s life which causes the decrease in consumption of fresh foods.

TYPES OF INVESTIGATIONS
The main purpose of the research is to find out the impact of usage of frozen foods
very the usage of fresh foods so this is a casual research because we want to find
out the cause or impact of one over others.

EXTENT OF RESEARCHER’S INTERFERENCE

There was minimum interference by the researcher and there was almost no change
in the normal work setting. Therefore the extent of researcher interference in this
study is minimal.

STUDY SETTINGS
The research that we have conducted is casual study and is taken in non- contrived
environment or in a field experiment.
UNIT OF ANALYSIS
As we have gathered our data through questionnaire so our unit of analysis is
individuals.

SAMPLE DESIGN
Sample is the representative of whole population or a subset of population which
reflects the characteristics of whole population. In our research sample size was
150 respondents.

Time Horizon:
We have collected the data through questionnaires just once so our research is one
shot or cross sectional in nature.
DATA COLLECTION, ANALYSIS
AND INTERPRETATION
The data will be collected through administered questionnaires. The form of
questionnaire is close-ended in which respondents have to make choices from a set
of alternatives. Also the questionnaire will end with a final open-ended question.
