Learning objectives:

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:


1. Recognise and circle 3 out of 5 words with the /g/ sound in the crossword
puzzle activity, individually
2. Identify and tick 3 out 5 words with the /g/ sound in the BINGO game,
individually.

Set-induction
1. Teacher greets the pupils and the pupils reply.
2. Teacher projects an upper case ‘G’ and a lower case ‘g’ from the power point
slide.
3. Pupils guess the letter shown on the white board.
4. Teacher introduces the /g/ sound to the pupils.
5. Teacher plays an audio for the /g/ sound.
6. Teacher teaches the /g/ sound with action.

Pre-stage
1. Teacher shows a picture that starts contain the /g/ sound.
2. Teacher gives the first word to spell and repeats the word twice.
3. Teacher spells the given word, then instructs the pupils to sound out each of the
letters.
4. Pupils need to identify what sound can they find in the words.
5. Teacher asks the pupils the sounds each letters make.
6. The repeats the actions with the second, third, fourth and fifth words.

While-stage
1. Teacher gives instruction to the next activity.
2. Each pupils are given a word search on the /g/ sounds.
3. Teacher reads aloud the words, the pupils need to circle the words in the word
search.
4. After that, teacher choose a few pupils to read out the words with the correct
sounds for each letters.
Post-stage
1. Teacher gives instructions to the next activity.
2. Teacher instructs pupils to flip the previous worksheet.
3. There is a BINGO card at the back of the worksheet.
4. Teacher demonstrates and explains the rules and how to play BINGO.
5. Pupils need to listen to the words and cross it out.
6. Pupils who score five or four BINGO in the row wins.
