CHARACTERISTIC OF THE MONARCHY OF SPAIN


1. It was thus a political reality that not only was based on large parts of Europe,
but had to turn subjects on several continents.
2. Spanish Monarchy was, by its nature, a true empire, which, however, the
superior authority of the sovereign was just beyond that was recognized in
each of the kingdoms and territories.
3. The nature of the relationship between the monarch and his subjects was
highly heterogeneous.
4. Monarchy coexisted in different nations, many different languages and political
traditions. Loyalty to the king was, in principle, the only element of cohesion.
5. It was necessary to provide the ideological substratum of a Monarchy to
provide it greater unity and to identify, and this element was none other than
the Catholic religion.

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

The system of organization of Spain in the form of monarchy has the features typical
form of government or royal state, namely:
 Hereditary succession of the members of the Royal Family in the Authority of
the State, with the title of King of Spain.
 A belongs to the King or Queen of certain privileges can or, originally and now
with real content with a more symbolic and representative background.
 The need for the Government has the double confidence of the King and the
Parliament, originally in its entirety and is currently restricted to the confidence
of the Congress of Deputies.
